A years worth of DSL for $26.95 is awesome enough for me, but I also get free stuff from Yahoo, too. Like, I chose to have a free 2 GB of e-mail room, and now I have 500 MB of public storage, too!

That Yahoo "Launch" radio or whatever I get premium on for free, too.

Awesome deal, definitely check 'er out if you're a dial-up user in the United States! :D

I have a feeling you'll be bombarded with advertisements because that seems too good to be true.

Have a link for proof?

I currently use SBC DSL, and I have to say the price is good and there aren't any advertisements, but the speeds are below average.

My friend had it, and I've seen better and it run alot slower than "below average" for him =/ I think that is the main catch.

Well I really didn't want to bash the company so I put it in a respectful way, but yes you are right.

If it runs faster than a 56k, then why complain? Not to mention you don't have to deal with hearing that horrible modem connection sound.

Hmm its suppose to run WAY faster than 56k, and its speeds aren't DSL standard.

Yea, but you are not exactly paying normal price for this line, you are paying a way cheaper price, so why expect the same exact speeds. If you are paying less than DSL but a bit more than 56k, then expect it to be better than 56k and worse than DSL.
I was looking at SBCYahoo recently, but I'm going to have to go with Verison because it's the only DSL service in my area. My house will only be saving $10 compared to RoadRunner after the first couple months. It's better than dialup, but I'm wondering if I'll miss my cable the next time I need someone's recording of a tv show I missed. On the bright side, I think there was 10 megs of web space included so I could actually store my own games. (Beat me to it Dynehost, you... you... er... free service that I leech off of!)

No, Kunark, I've had this for nearly a full year now, and it's the best internet service I've ever had.

No, I get extremely high speeds, and my service has NEVER been down like Cable services often are =D (In our area, RoadRunner is unreliable)

Best service EVER I say =D

I have had SBC Yahoo DSL for about a year now and I'm happy with it. It came with some software, but I don't use any of it except the connection manager. I guess the quality of service really depends on where you are living. If the speeds in your area are good then go for it.
In response to DamienEvernite
I live really close to where they service it from, I wonder if that makes a difference?

Also, can you get another year for $26.95?

Acually after having a few conversations with customer support and two salesmen they claimed to have equal speeds to cable and other dsl ISPs and if not better. =(

Ex.

Sprint I believe offers 21$ a month is faster, but I'd never use Sprint in my life.

Yes, my friend! Our first year contract was up in december, they just renewed it happily for another year, same price. :)

I have brighthouse the best one out their
I have SBCYahoo DSL, and I cannot wait until our contract with them is up. They've screwed me over in too many ways to remember. They've overcharged me for networking, among many other things.
