Anyone collect weapons? I do. I practice some martial arts and me and my friends love weaponry, but especially me.
I just bought 2 Neck Knives from swordsonline.com. All my other stuff that I've had was custom.
I've made my own design weapon which I named, a "Bladewhip" because it has the ability to have a whiplash effect, and when swung it producted speed-based gashes instead of pressure-based. It was very fast, and I could hit things in mid air (multiple slashes) up to 4 times, but I ended up breaking it on the wrath of my guitar's neck :P
I like to stavefight. I could do lots of tricks with staves, but sadly, I ended up breaking that too when I axe-kicked on top of it on accident while combining martial arts with it. hehe now it is two stakes that I practice duel-wield swords :P
I've also home-made a glaive before... Though that was short-lived. I think that was what I sliced my mothers computer with when someone was over... But I don't remember, but whoever was with me does...
Personally the swords I want to own in the future are mixes between machetes and scimitars... Duel wield them. That and hopefully a nicely shaped, and nicely sized, samurai sword.
Only swords I currently own though aren't actually mine. I just use them every long once in a while. They are a basketed broadsword and a true scottish claymore. Heh last night i got a chance to use them and I ended up practicing with the claymore and seeing why I relaly don't want a super-heavy sword like that, then i played around and had alittle fun when I duel-wielded the two with the claymore in my right hand (Man is my arm sore today.).
Just to get with the times and if I live in a high-crime area, I might end up getting a minor gun for my car. The Baby Eagles look interesting for that. Other than that though I won't get a gun because I consider them pretty wussy to have to use. Hardly any skill required.
Anyways, what types of weapons do you guys have or plan on getting in the future? Anyone good with certain types of martial arts, or weapon arts?

I have a bunch of plastic swords made of extendable segments, a wooden sword, and a plastic broadsword with nasty designs on it. Do they count? =)

It's something I'd be interested in doing, but then again, my parents don't even trust me at all and would probably think I'd kill the cat or something. It's pretty funny though considering our house is full of guns...

I recommend you actually find out about the 'Samurai Sword' before you fall into the same trap as everyone else that I know - A samurai wields two swords collectively called the Dai-Sho, the Shoto and Daito.
The sword you may have been reffering to is the Daito, also known as the Katana. |
I am interested in that topic as well, though I have not persued it lately.
Why do your weapons that you have made keep breaking, do you make them out of wood or plastic? |
I only own a few knifes and bambo staffs. You did remind me of a sword fight me and a friend had. We where using his swords, I had a short sword, and he had a bastard sword.
We where drilling some strikes when he decided to do a power hit from over top of me. It broke my sword in two peice, right along the the spot the strike hit, I moved and he moved the sword enough that it did not strike me, but it was close. My swords end stabbed right into the ground. It would have hurt like hell if it would have stabbed into my foot. That day, we ruined about 3 bambo staffs and half staffs. |

I have an, AK47, 1947 Russian Nagant (never been issued, still has the bayonet), a semi-auto 30.6, semi-auto .22, single shot .22, .38 handgun revolver, a crossbow, .45 handgun, and some other miscellaneous firearms...and a few pairs of brass knuckles! Anyone good with certain types of martial arts, or weapon arts? Nope, never really held a sword, or practiced martial arts. |

Heh I have to keep all mine in secret since my mother was raised mormon, even though she doesn't go to church, she acts, and is as strict, as one.

I already know a Katana is what I want :P But there is also a few swords that are modified versions of that that are better. I said "Samurai Sword" because that refers to all of the swords that are single edged, curved, two-handed, and the curve isn't extreme at a point, it's gradual, and the blade does't get heavier farther down the blade/up the blade.

The parts that break are wood and plastic. I can't do anything with metal but maybe screw through it... In welding, however, I made a scythe-shaped blade... Though I of course couldn't make the blade within the class, and once I got home, the blade was jsut too hard to make with a maap torch.

Heh, I will only fight my friends with real swords if it is a mock fight for a camera :P I am going to get practice swords for me and my friends, for they don't make-a-boo-boo.

I have a bo staff that I'm learning to use...
I'm currently a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. I'm supposedly testing in september for red, but that hasn't been officially said. |

I was in Tae Kwon-Do for a while... But then I dropped out after I got my black belt, no real motivation to move on (I was only 10 tho)

I think that at such a young age, you really don't know enough. I just started the self defense class a few months ago, and there's just so much you can learn, there's tons after you've reached black belt. Up untill the self defense class, we only did forms (the art) and some sparring.

This sword was in the store I went to today and was being sold for any 50 dollars, which is a great price for that size and quality of a sword. I wanted a Katana, but I got a ninja sword which is good too.
Here is a picture of it: http://www.ninja-weapons.com/Swords/Ninja_Swords/6988.shtml I have to keep it in my trunk though so my parents don't see that I have a sharpened sword. heh I used it at my friend's house and perfected the art of cutting coke cans full of water :P Very fun and great for exercising. |

I have a nice jetblack switchblade that can be easily opened with the flick of your wrist, I have some knunchucks (doubt I spelled that correctly) which I occasionally practice with just to show off, and of course a pair of brass knuckles. My favorite weapon though is an all chrome cane with an eagle's head engraved in the handle, then pulls out to a three foot long sword. I am not sure what type of sword it is or anything because I never bought it, it was given to me.

That's really cool! I need a job before I can start collecting, and since my parents refuse to buy me weapons I have to wait until my 18th birthday in April.
I probably won't have a very big collection of weapons since I prefer classic-looking, fully-functional pieces over show pieces. I've also grown interested in martial arts lately, chiefly because of my interest in Bruce Lee (my hero). |

Im into knives, daggers and swords, but I cant stand guns. Some of my favorite blades I've seen are made out of Damascus steel wich has designs on it because of the way its forged.( http://damascus.free.fr/ scroll down) I want to get a costum dagger made but it would probably be expensive.
