Try taking a look at mine. I am not going to repost it in this one because I already put it in one of the others (same subject).

Finished.

Kind of a quick job, but i'll re-do it sometime in the future.

What do you think?

Certainly far from the best, but I'm pretty fond of the banner I made for hub://AirMapster/Dung-Man:

The then modem users complained about the file size, so I made a static image:

Here's one I made for Wolf01 a while back. Really lame. Just a little gradient with some silver line-through text. Laugh if you must:

Yeah, those are very nice. Much better than all these animated hand-drawn-in-Paint-by-non-artists banners, and all the way-too-many-Photoshop-effects banners. *runs from the mob* =P

You should be releasing that on the hub!

Flick! Work to release flindel kingdoms already!
In response to Crispy
Crispy, what do you mean? There is no other way to make banners (decent ones at that) without a program such as Adobe Photoshop. The one I made, was hand drawn (no stealing of icons. The only thing I stole was the face image, but, I changed the face around and cut pieces out of it to make it look cooler). Do you see the fire, text, and the cool grid around the whole thing? Well, that is all hand drawn with tools and all.

Don't get me wrong, Photoshop is a great program for making banners; I was referring to the extraneous application of filters that inexperienced banner artists will often use. Those people seem to think that more filters = better, and that banners with flashy transition effects for no good reason are great graphic design (which they're not).

Filters certainly have their place, but like any artist's tool they have to be applied well in order to do their job.

I like your banner though. I'm a little concerned about how the text will resize when the banner is shrunk to 250x60 (i.e. standard BYOND size) though. And I don't think the anime chick really fits the look of the rest of it. The rest of it is pretty cool though. =)

Wait... Do you proofread? That made no sense whatsoever.

I said that the banner looked good. But Thought the red outline looked bad. I stated "Except the red outline".

and you agreed: "Yeah"

Then you contradicted yourself: "...The Red outline really prestines the picture in a frame type of mood, making a decent banner for a gray backround..."

All in the same sentence.

Are you confused? You may well have put me there with you.

Crispy, if you say something like that, you really are showing that you have no room to talk. Most people who make graphics use a combination of paint and photoshop, as photoshop isn't ideal for drawing precisely.

True, photoshop makes image creation much easier, but it is far from it that filters do everything for you. I don't know any professionals that apply lighting effects by hand, and I don't know of any others that make their own radial gradients by hand either.

As for paint, paint has a few aspects that make it a little better than photoshop. In paint, it actually tells you mouse coordinates, plus, it's only "filter", invert colours, is vastly superior to photoshop's for black and white images. Also, sometimes you can't have an image with alpha values. It's easier to do that paint than photoshop. Sometimes you just want a crisp line.

These two tools supply almost everything I need. I didn't see you making fun of anyone using a 3D rendering program to generate graphics, but I guess those people so obviously use much more skill when it comes to making flat graphics. If it looks good, it looks good. Period.

No, i understood you perfectly fine.

I'M explaining how it Isn't bad looking, and rather then it messing the picture up, it actually forms it.
