(Im not really sure where i should post this)Has any one else noticed that most of byond games that are up and running start with the name "Dragon" something. is it just me or is the hub turning into one big "dragon" fan thing. To me I cant even seem to find a game worth playing any more because all the games seem just like the last one. Byond is turning into one big "rip" off of the last person.
So if you find this kind a true post your voice, hopefully some one will make a game worth peoples time to play and the hubs space.

What I wish for is FUNimation to tumble down to BYOND by accident, see all the content that relates to Dragon Ball, sue the owners, then BYOND will be forced to not let people make fan games, and BYOND will be a happier place. I want this dream to come true. =(

Yes that would be very nice a place with only costume made games from there minds to the players fingers, not from the Internet to there minds to the players fingers if you know what I mean. But yah byond needs to take a "new" turn.

Hmm, i wonder if i could pay Dan and Tom to delete all the fan games on BYOND. Especially the DBZ Ones.

Dragon Warrior Online is one of the top 10 games I've ever played in my life.
There's absolutly nothing wrong with fan games. |

That would be really funny if you could pay them off. but not all fan games are bad but it would be better if byond stayed as a "Build YOUR OWN Net Dream". rather then some one else’s games.

I actually made a comment about this in another topic, as i said then, a smarter server would be better, in which the HUB looked at the name and description for keywords such as Dragon Ball and placed it in a default folder, then later giving the creator the option to move it to their own custom channel like other iv seen on here.

The one point many of you are forgetting is that BYOND (aka Dan, Tom, and the support staff) are not, and can not, be held responsible for copyright infringements that the game developers may do. They provide an engine to make games and a forum to support that engine, nothing else - to force them to take responsibility for the use of the game engine is equivalent to automakers and gunmakers taking responsibility for the people who use their products to harm other people.
Now the hub moderators try to keep up with the all the fan games that charge for playing, since that is about the only *real* issue- fangames are (in general) ok as long as they do not charge for their game (or make a profit as I believe Funimation actually announced at one point in the past). Please take the time to search through the forums, as this topic has already been done to death, and the above actions by hub moderators are the only current viable solution at this time. If the system changes, you'll be the first to know. *Thread closed* |
