Check this out...
Now...if white people tried to make a similar service, we would be beaten up by all of the minorities.
Good job.

I'm still waiting for WET (White Entertainment Television).

What are you talking about, white people have had AOL all these years as their crappy side network last choice service, and I'v heard no complaints from any other people of a different "race".

There is a huge difference between upholding one race above the others and including that race among all others in equality. Last I knew, AOL was not racist. In fact, AOL, which stands for America Online, even extends to foreigners. AOL has nothing to do with being white. The site for the ISP brought up in this thread is just another example of a group seperating themselves when they whine about others doing as little as mentioning the slight difference between us. Completely hypocritical. |
I understand the point you're trying to make, but this site isn't about setting up an ISP that only black people can use. In fact, if you read the About.. page it makes a bit of sense. The idea is that minorities have less access to the internet than non-minorities (there are studies on this, look up the "digital divide"), so they tried to create a (free) ISP that specifically tries to make itself accessible to minorites. There's nothing ignoble about that, and certainly nothing racist.
Which isn't to say that racism is dead, just that this isn't it. |
I dunno...I'd like to see them check whether I'M of "color" (hmm), so that's another free host I can use...

All the other channels aren't designed for white people at all. Anyone who claims *unavoidable* statistics is racism, is a silly person. What are you suggesting, we forcibly move black people into places with lots of white people? Wait, I've heard of THAT before... *Now I've just made myself look like a racist myself...sigh* |
The only people who have less access to the internet are those who don't want to spend the money to get it themselves or walk to the library to use the computers there. And that has nothing to do with being black or white.

But then, why would they want a website anyway? |

But that restriction does not arise from their skin color. The people there happen to be black as a result of their location, but the fact that they have less access is also a result of location and not of skin color.
That aside, some groups are trying to get the internet to remote people. I have seen of computers being set up in the middle of such towns for everyone to use. |
Hmm. It's great how even though it's trying to reach out to the minority, it stereotypes them in the process.
Now, John, the hard working black collage professor who was thrown a tough break in life and is poor now, can tighten' up his game and send e-hollahs to all his homedawgs. |

Indeed, I still don't understand what use the internet would actually BE to a remote town. (Other than selling domain addresses for cash) |
As I recall, it was mostly for education and entertainment. The children seemed responsible enough to use it for both on their own, learning about various things they might otherwise never know.

Check this out... Why complain about something so little?, its nothing compared to over 200 years' of slavery, and colonizing a whole continent. As if we were payed back for all that was done to us. ;/ They should be paying us millions' of dallors' and yes i am racist =p. |
Exactly. We have done everything we can to apologize for what the whites did, and people still complain about it today when they haven't suffered a bit due to slavery, and a lot of them haven't experienced any more racism than a lot of the whites have from other races.
<sarcasm>My ancestors were mormon pioneers, so I guess you all need to be apologizing to me for being against my grandfather's religion!</sarcasm> |
