A great laugh if you have not already seen it.
I havent seen it. And I dont think its close to funny

But I agree with it kind of, *nix owns

Uh... What? You just said you haven't seen it, and that it isn't funny. I hate Windows and mac... (but use win2k), and I thought it was damn funny.

All the OSes are trash in my opinion, Macs are ALWAYs slow, I don't know why, but any mac I've ever used was so incredibly mind-numbingly slow i wanted to gouge my eyes out. Linux is nice, but sometimes it is irritating to get working -- not built for the moron. Windows is slick and packaged well, but BUGGIER THAN ALL HELL.

=/.

Gah, it came out wrong.

Using googles "define" feature I got this:
parody: a composition that imitates somebody's style in a humorous way

When I said "I havent seen it" I ment the Mac ad. And when I said "I didnt find it funny" I nemt the flash movie

That's why you use nouns other than pronouns to resolve ambiguities!

Yup. There is much merriment to be had with such ambiguous expressions like:

Rangers do it in the woods.

...and...

Assassins do it from behind.

That's because Macs are for slow people.
Absolutely wicked. =)

But yeah, if you have no idea what the heck he's talking about, the joke falls flat.

Linux isn't even built for the genius; it has no direction to it. The only compulsion people really have for learning how to use Linux is to develop because their employers want them to. Otherwise, Linux is just a badge that snooty people wear if they're not quite snooty enough to be a Mac owner.

I hate all OSes as well. But I use Windows, because that's what I need to use with the software I have.

About a year or two ago, Apple was running a "switch" ad campaign, the basic message being that people should switch from PC to Mac. They made a bunch of ads with "real people" telling about why they had switched.

The original ads can be found at http://www.esm.psu.edu/Faculty/Gray/switch-ads.html. The most famous one was probably from Ellen Feiss. Speaking of the marijuana thread...

I'd say the best Apple-produced ad was the one with Will Ferrell.

Of course, this spawned a huge number of parodies. Some funny, many just plain stupid. A few of the better ones:

Obviously Ter has not tried a G5 lately, running MacOS X Panther. I use all the major Win OSs, MacOS 9 and X, and 4 separate Linux distros- the latest MacOS X is just so much more comfortable (and I'm very partial to KDE and Blackbox)!

Now leave me alone to play Half-Life 2 on my Linux box... http://www.transgaming.com/news.php?newsid=135

Untill a game becomes popular enough it basically never gets ported. And the fact you have to wait for someone to port it is also a problem.

in the case of using Cedega (formerly WineX), porting is no longer necessary... Windows-based games can run out-of-the-box on Linux now.

:p

I think mac should drop out of the race if that's true DM.

Seeing as how one of their decently fast computers costs more then even windows alienware, i'd say they should go into debt and lose their company. They aren't doing anything for the world but making people flamingly happy, simplified (Aka dumb), and not getting what they want for the money they spend.
Down with Macs!

Interesting that you link to the Apple product with arguably the most bang for the buck. Tell me where else you can get 5.6 TB of RAID storage, multiple RAID levels, LUN masking, dual 2 Gb Fibre Channel, redundant hot swappable power supplies and cooling modules, hot swappable disk drives, network management, email alerts of hardware failures, all for under $13k. I just placed a purchase order for one of these at work, which we're adding to the 2.5 TB model we bought last year. My boss is very happy about all the money I saved him vs. Dell/IBM ($30k) or SGI/Sun ($50k and up).

By the way, your link will expire when the session times out. Here's a permanent link.

Of course you do. You're Canadian, like Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie.

I understand those are business computers, but i was just trying to prove a point. The only decently fast computers are too expensive! Ignoring that point, all of their other computers suck. However, if they just didn't make such trashy machines, their system might not be that bad, if they made a few large changes. It's ok to be different, but not to the point where you can't even play games. -.-

Who would want any of that for a HOME COMPUTER? No one but a moron that has too much money! Hey, that'd be pretty funny if bill gates owned a mac. I wonder what kind of computer he has anyway. :/

(It'd be even funnier if he didn't even have one.)

Heh, looks like more then several. They're probably going to rip them apart and study. That or use them, or steal their technology. :D
