Well, the n00bname title says it all. There's a new version of WinXP around, and I am probably the only one of yas to get it. :P

I have desktop image of it.

Looks like you used styleXP to change your desktop. Nothing special there.

Sure does look like StyleXP, though the system tray icon isn't there, maybe he disabled it.

Just so you know, Wolf01; The only new Operating System that's being dealt with so far is Windows Longhorn, that's it, based on Window's anyway. So no point in trying to pucker up something like this mate, it wont work.

I know it can be disabled, I have seen it done before, at my school.

Case closed then, looks like he's been framed =)

I've known there was a new XP around for a couple of months, where have you been? Wyoming? :/

Or, looks like no knowledge involved. It is true there is a new version of XP around. And Microsoft is offering it up for sale. I don't know anything about it or care, it is probably more "Media" enhanced then Home or Pro.

Don't talk without knowing atleast a little bit of information that is useful.

Media center edition has been out for a while now, and is nothing special. It is just home with a new look, and maybie a few codec.

I coded Windows Zeta Edition.

It rock0rZ!
It's pretty, but is it as reliable as Win2000 Pro on a 400 MHz machine from 1999? I thought not.
In response to Scoobert
It certainly is.

I certainly do know a little information, and like others have stated, the Media Center is not a *new* Windows XP. How is it a new Windows XP? Seeing as it is just a side product of XP. All it basically does, or what it's specified to do is bring you more towards the entertainment section of Video Media, and what can Home and Pro editions do? The same.

Yea, it has a few features Home and Pro miss, but they aren't really necessary for myself at least, as I'd prefer to watch TV on my TV. My TV is designed to bring my Video entertainment, I built my PC to bring me gaming entertainment. Both do as they are supposed to. Simple as that.

So try not to go around saying things such as; Don't talk without knowing atleast a little bit of information that is useful. -- Quite frankly, it is not needed, and on a more personal standard, there was no need for harsh words like those when you didn't consider that possibility that I actually knew something, plainly, it's just as easy to say "Stop talking, you're stupid."

Anyway, enough arguing. It will just go on with conflicts of opinions.

As for the Media Center, it's nothing new, the only thing new as of Operating Systems is Windows Longhorn, which is quite frankly, a hell of a lot more than a side shot of Media Center.

How is it a side product?

If the Foreman grill made another grill, would it be a side product or a new grill?

You are interpreting what we meant wrongly.
It's a New Version of Windows XP.

It's a New Version of Windows XP.

It's like Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional Edition.

Exactly, infact, let's call it an Edition, seeing as how that's what Microsoft called it.

An Edition of Windows XP. :|

I know, I especially love how it looks just like the other XP versions except for some slightly changed text and more l33t. Good effort lad! Ill distribute to the wife and kids once I get home from the pub.
In response to Kaga-Kami
Yeah, Lee is right; it's more a matter of opinion than truth. I would agree with you Kami, saying that its a new Operating System, while he can argue that its not; just a new version. There are an equal amounts of thruth to both sides, and neither are exactly correct.
In response to Scoobert
Actually you can just patch the uxtheme.dll file and you don't even need StyleXP.
In response to Shun Di
True, but I have had bad luck with that.

The thing is that it is just XP home with some other programs. It really doesn't do anything special. Pro is special because it has advanced user options and some other stuff to make it work better on networks with multiple users, home doesnt have that, but come with more(annoying) stuff to for the average user. They are miles apart. Home and MC are not miles appart. They are a few programs apart. I read though the MC site and it had nothing special about it. They could have just as easly released a "Media Center Programs Pack" for winXP Home and it would have accomplished the same thing.
