Except for the big ol' "DUMBLEDORE DIES IN BOOK 6" which is obviously readable without actually entering the thread.
It's not like I'm having a heart attack over a spoiler. I just think renaming the title so that the spoiler was in plain view was done in poor taste.

Everyone's been flooding these here internets for days with this spoiler. Hell, I've seen things in AIM profiles like "Click here for my subprofile." Oh, wait. That was me too. :-P I'm such a bastard. |

J.K. Rowling intended for the book to be read in a certain way; she has crafted expectations and carefully led the reader to have certain assumptions. For instance, the fact that Dumbledore is always out of the game when Harry needs him, and the tendency for this to occur in more and more drama as the series went on, led to the expectation that Dumbledore would die. J. K. Rowling doesn't do foreshadowing; she does fore-eclipsing. |

That's not funny, it's pathetic. Who get's their jollies ruining something for little kids? What's worse, he ruined it for a friend of his, and he knew it. I hope someone runs over his head with a large semi.

Not much mess that way. Unless it was a powerful gun at close range >_> |

He did mention spoilers in the title. It's not his fault that you read them.

The Village was "spoiled" for me by the fact that every review I read, the reviewer focused on the image of the date on the gravestone near the opening of the movie. To me, that implied that the gravestone's date was being used to establish the time setting of the story... and that this was significant in some fashion. People and things within the movie can lie in ways that external narration (including a dateline stamped on the start of the screen or an opening scroll of text) can't. The reviewers lingering on the camera lingering on the date on the gravestone gave away the thing that both the reviewers and the camera (or the man behind it) were trying so hard to obscure. :P

Just finished reading and yeah ok the spoilers are true. But in the Bllomsbury version (which is what the UK is getting) the page numbers aren't wrriten at the bottom like that, there isn't a picture at the start of chapters and some of those events don't occur on the page number in the spoilers.

Yeah, you are. Somebody already committed suicide because some jackass told him spoilers, I know it's not a good reason, but it's somebody's fault for giving out the spoilers.
Oh, you want proof? Here's a video! http://www.yubanet.com/artman/publish/article_22620.shtml They left you all the fun details, see what people like you cause? |

What part of "Harry Potter 6 spoilers" don't you people understand? Are you really going to complain about people ruining it for your when you decided to look at the post and read the "supposed fake spoiler", and then bitch about people saying it's true? If you didn't look at the post in the first place, you wouldn't have had it spoiled for you! The first time I saw that thread, I skipped past it and marked it as read when I was done with all the other threads. I was reading the forum later, and not paying attention to the post titles, just clicking the next red title down and skimming the posts. Having not read the thread, I'd forgotten it existed. So I clicked on the thread. Before I properly realised what the thread was about, up comes the picture (the bottom one came up first for some reason). I suddenly realised what the thread was, and hastily reached for the back button. Unfortunately, eyes have a natural tendency to wander. They're also drawn to certain colours instinctively - particularly red. My eyes skidded across the screen; I instinctively glanced at the red line underneath the three fatal words; and, as I do with all text, I instinctively read them. Bang. Spoiled instantly. So in a way, it was a trick. Firstly, the images should have been LINKED, not included inline. Secondly, the "=P" smiley should not have been included in the post title, because it makes it sound like a joke; it would have been easy to assume that Kujila was showing a parody of HP6. A more appropriate title might have been "Spoilers from Harry Potter 6 - legit? WARNING ***SPOILERS*** WARNING" Thirdly, if you're just genuinely curious about the authenticity, at least wait a week or so, so some people have a chance to read it. If you're just aiming to spoil it, of course, then don't do it at all. If you'd done all of those things, Kujila, it would have been alright... |

Yeah, I spoiled it for myself, but I have no plans of reading the book, and even knowing that information would not keep me from enjoying the book if I ever did decide to read it. =P ~Kujila |
