I just ordered a sub to Earth Link Cable internet, which is run through my local Time Warner Cable Company, I guess now I just need to get everything all set up so then I'll have some nice high speed internet, and it wont take me a hour and a half to download a 10MB program.

This is the first time Ive I'll have ever had cable internet and I was wondering if any of you had any tips or suggestions for me? My friend had it awhile ago, and I guess he had problems from time to time.

Also, another friend of mine said you can get ahold of live TV broadcasts online with cable internet (Well I could with dial up too, but itd be god awful slow and long..) Anyone have any suggestions for that too?

Finally, Ill need some online games to test this out on, once I get it, anyone have any suggestions on any free online games I could try out?
If its broadband, I suggest you to get an antivirus, a firewall, and an anti-spyware..

"Panda Virus Scanner" is great. Virus Scanner

"Zone Alarm Firewall" is great. Firwall

"Ad-aware"/"Ad-watch" is great. Spyware detector

I use these 3, and I havent had a problem with anything in along time. With broadband theres an always open connection, great for hackers to turn your computer into a zombie! If youve got cable tv, you can get a adapter to connect the TV cable to your computer, and you can watch tv all day long if your graphics card has the port.

I already got Zone Alarm, and I use the free version of AGP. I also on occasion, for those really tuff viruses and worms, Panda Online Virus Scan, I dont really worry about ad-ware.

Get a new harddrive. When I had 56k, a 4GB seemed like amlost enough, when we had a new computer and still had 56k, 40GB was insanly large. Soon as we got RoadRunner, that 40GB seemed ant size.
