In the game i'm working on there aren't going to be levels, only individual skill levels. It would make it harder to kill newbs.

A challenge relative to the players skill level, that is.

Then you could have skill vs. skill battles.
Making you have an impact on the world, such as in Fallout 1/2, now that's fun, seeing as you can MANY different things.
