Recently I stopped in my Gamestop/EB store to see what was new. There I saw it. "CITY OF HEROES THE BOOTLEG EDITION for 99 cents" I was like "Holy crap!" its only a 14 day free trial but eh, its only 99 cents. If you wanted to try the game and didn't want to buy the thing get the "Bootleg edition". Yes it's an official version from ncsoft.
Can you just BUY IT AGAIN and load your character? When your sub. runs out?

Not sure.

Probably makes you start a new account; if it doesn't, it will soon. Thats a lot of potential profit loss.

Im pretty sure that would work. Because thats what one of my friends did with FFXI for a while.
You can download alot of MMORPGs for free and get a 14 day free trial. Eve-Online does it (high recommended, but something to be played with others, and the game can be harsh), DAoC did it(might still do it), Lineage, RO, WoW, and some others...

Personally I play Eve Online. It's really the only MMORPG where players actually have an effect on the game. You don't just run an instance that does nothing but give you some eq, or do a 'raid' where nothing major honestly happens. in Eve, if you're in a corp and it attacks an enemy's station, it can take that station, and that can change the shift of power in that area. Your alliance loses control of a region and you may find your trade route just got alot more risky. Plus the way you train in that game prevents powerleveling, and requires you to think about how you want your character developed. It's a unique setup, and I personnally like it.
