I was half-tempted to post this in Gaming, but it's a movie.
Anyways...
I know that FFVII AC will be released on September 13 in the United States, simultaneously on September 14 in Japan. But what I was wondering was:
- Is it gonna be released only in select theaters in America? If so, does anybody know what locations?
- Is the English counterpart only going to be Japanese with English subtitles?
I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this awesome sequel to FFVII(Even Zack is in it! And at the end of one of the trailers, Sephiroth is attacking!), and have watched every trailor I've found- both on the English version and the Japanese version, which has more. They look truly amazing(especially watching in the highest quality).
I've also watched some on other sites, as well as downloading one from a site that I won't disclose(plus the file was like 65 MB, so you don't want it anyways)

That's as official as it gets right there. Go there click Enter, Info, then click the arrow once. Now I don't read Japanese, but I clearly see DVD as well as UMD printed neatly in the text. Hiead |

Its PSP only dude. You think an offical TV company produced show would BS the review of the movie and say its only PSP?
Yeah okay. |

Did you check that site?
Plus, if I recall, G4 is a gamer network, so why talk about anything but game-related stuff? Hiead |

At first I heard it was coming to both, but uh if it only comes out for PSP..That would suck...>_>

It's going to be on UMD for the first couple of months, but then they are going to make a DVD of it.

As far as I read on popular Sony PSP fan sites, you can pick up a collectors pacakge, where the UMD and DVD come in a collectable tin and you get a toy or something with it.
It dosent really matter. Whats wrong with you people? They are going to spend ALOT of money, on a total CG movie and ONLY release it for the Sony PSP? Come on, the Sony PSP is like $250.00 and anyone who bought that thing, just to play movies on the road is a complete and utter idiot. After one movie, you would be close to dead on the battery. Not only that, people who already own a DVD player and DVDs are not going to go to the UMD format, namely because of the expensive price of the Sony PSP. Maybe in the future.. Sony will make a stand alone, UMD player, and then, UMD will phase out DVDs. But right now, UMD is smaller in both size and memory, they have less content then DVDS and they only play on the super expensive Sony PSP. As far as I can see, I consider the UMD the Beta Tapes of the future. Anyone who thinks Advent of Children is going to be a UMD only movie needs to lay off the pot. |

Heh.
I can't even think of the CD's being phased out. Although.. mp3 players are getting popular... Imagion all of the broken plexyglass (isn't that what CDs are made out of?) when the new "era" comes along. |

Actually, I'm not buying. I'm just telling what I've heard.

As far as I can see, I see EVERYTHING going digital. No more need to carry around 10 tons of plastic for your movie collection or music.
I actully have a DVD player coming in the mail, that has a digital system on it, and it just copies all your dvds to its internal HD and then you can play it from the system. So in the future I see everything coming from some sort of new aged connection, where we can download entire movies and stuff in a instant. |

Originally the plan was for it to be purely UMD video, but as the official site that Hiead shows (In the 'Info' section, with either regular DVD, limited edition DVD, and UMD each complete with contents list and box-art, etc.) it's set for both, at least in Japan.

And they made you and Administator. You're obviously trustworthy.
But I'm not even going to bother watching it. They FF games and movies have to much of a wierd story. |
