I had someone log into my game this afternoon while I was at the doctor who claimed a copyright violation. If possible could someone in the byond administrative department check this out for authenticity:
"(INFO) Square inc. Legal department has entered the world!
(World) Square inc. Legal department chats: hello id like to speak to you\
(World) Square inc. Legal department chats: are you with me
(World) Square inc. Legal department chats: well when you get back read this message
(World) Square inc. Legal department chats: your game is under the violation of the copywrite law, if this game doesnt change within 2 weeks we will shut it down
(World) Square inc. Legal department chats: thank you have a nice day
(INFO) Square inc. Legal department has left the world!"
This is the complete wrong way for any professional to go about addressing the problem, if it even is a problem. I know that there are a bunch of other games in the byond fan game section, such as Final Fantasy Legacy, Dragon Warrior Quest, and so many more that directly use the name of a copyrighted game. Not to mention that this awful excuse for a poseur spelled copyright wrong. Something else I'd liek to point out, I'm not 100% sure about though because I don't follow newer games or what company owns what but to the best of my knowledge(still in the 90s) Dragon Warrior was owned by enix, not square. I feel that this person has wasted my time and harassed me, I feel that their key should be banned as well as their IP from byond all together if this can be done. People like this do nothing to benefit the gaming community, we would all be better off without them.

He's definitely not any type of Square official. He's probably some kid who doesn't want the rivalry of your game, so he's playing cheap tricks to try and fool you.
I predict that a mod will see this, ban the key, and probably close this thread. I'm glad you were able to identify that he was a fake, though. :P | |
Your first clue should be that he types horrible. Now, I doubt square would even handle things that way, much less download the client, join your game, and speak to you that way.
