Okay.. i'd say I spent 700 dollars and here is what I made:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+.
Corsair (Value Select) - Dual Channel 512MB.(x2) =1GB
Aspire X-Navigator Case. (450W Power Supply)
Sony Floppy Drive.
Toshiba CDROM Drive.
Masscool CPU Fan.
ABIT AV8 Motherboard.
80GB Western Digital Hard Drive.
Windows XP - Home Edition.

I think I did good, of course I included the little things as well. :P
CDRom was $15.00
CPU Fan was $15.00
Floppy Drive was $7.00
Motherboard + CPU where $405.00
Hard Drive was $60.00
RAM (Memory) was $100.00
And.. I already have a GeForce 5200.
Cept for your graphics card, its a top system ;)

Agreed, and it would be a wise upgrade if you're in too games a whole bunch, which I'm assuming you are. To need a computer that powerful, you couldn't just have wanted something to surf the internet.

Ive got a Geforce FX 5700, and ANYTHING I put in it runs apsolutely perfect, as long as youve got a good processer and alot of ram youll be fine for just about anything.

i will agree with everyone, but a western digital for a hdd? you should watch for deals man, i picked up a 160 gb Maxtor uata/sata 133, for less than 80 bucks, and that was brand new....but i do despise your memory sticks...i cant seem to find my pc800 ddr, you lucky dog. :) lol

What is wrong with WesternDigital? I have had two, my brother as had 2, all our clients get Western Digital. They are good harddrives, nomatter what anyone says. Only harddrive I have ever had brake on me was a Maxtor, and we replaced it with a, gasp, Western Digital.

I have two Western Digitals myself in my computer, and my dad has one in his computer. I've never had problems with them.

Deals? 160 gb hard drive? That's insane, i'd never use that much space unless I didn't delete usless programs/files and put on many programs/files that I don't use.

I am using 200GB right now, it is easy when you have the space. I remember when I had a 5GB, I thought "I could never fill up 20GB, I really want a 20GB harddrive".

Really, I am debating buying another 200GB harddrive, because I need the space. I am constantly deleting stuff, and then coming back 2 weeks later and needing it. I have 15GB of music, 50GB of games(ISO's, not installed) 20+ GB of installed games, and lord knows whatelse on my computer. This stuff builds up fast, very fast.

I'm sure you listen to every song every day and play every game.

No I don't, but I don't want to have to reinstall each game, and rerip each song whenever I want to play them. I could Burn those ISO's to cds, but that would take time, and effort that I don't want to take. It is nice to have all of your information at your fingertips.

Woot i have 700 gig atm. I want another 200 gig sata as the current ones i have are ide. I have 200 gig for movies, like 60 gig for games, 50 gig for music, 200 gig for episodes, and the rest for whatever i can find to put on it.

i wasnt knocking WD, i just havent had alot of luck with WD or Seagate drives....all the Maxtors ive ever had, never had a problem with them. i got the 160 gbbecause i have 4 people besides me who use my pc, and they would like to customize their logons....doesnt sound insane to me.

I know exactly what you mean. I only have a 80GB harddrive, and I'm at it's very limit with only a few GB left. I'm a packrat in life and on the computer, I hate getting rid of things.

but then again, i do have alot of songs, alot of pics of my ride and my friends rides. almost everything image wise is on here, not to mention the other user's files. i did have a 60 gb to run what i was doing at the time, but after a couple of months, it seemed i had no room to store my worksheets, business paperwork, so it seemed only logical to expand to a drive i know i wont be able to fill up. i still have 127 out of the 160 gb free.

What if, for some reason, your harddrive crashes? With that much information, it's good to back up some of it. 15 gigs of music is ridiculous though, isn't that like a week or more of continous play? 60 gigs of games that you just like to say you have.
In response to Artekia
So do I. I have loads of games installed and some music (which I actually listen to, not on there for the sake of it *gasp*) and I still have about 20gig free. Granted, I just let Microsoft compress my old files (why oh why did I do that :-)) but there was 11gb left before that - which is approx 1/8, or my free space minimum for defragging etc.
