Dirge is not FF12, it's a FF7-offshot, much like Advent children is a FF7-based movie. I think dirge would probably be a rent-and-beat game, doubt it's all that long, but who knows...

good grief- this series has nothing 'Final' about it. should change the name to 'Never-ending Fantasy-that-rakes-in-molla-from-the-suckers'

The first Final Fantasy was made by Nintendo, not Squaresoft, who took over the role completely from ff2j on (except for FFT, which while under the Square name, employed the Atlus team that made Tactics Ogre, hence the similiarities (which are blindingly obvious with FFTA)).

From Jon88:
The original game was Square's last/Final hope/Fantasy. If it had flopped, they would probably have gone out of business. :P No you are wrong also. See the links at the end of the post. The first Final Fantasy was made by Nintendo, not Squaresoft, who took over the role completely from ff2j on (except for FFT, which while under the Square name, employed the Atlus team that made Tactics Ogre, hence the similiarities (which are blindingly obvious with FFTA)). Uh no. People should really do some reasearch before making claims :P. Final Fantasy was done by squaresoft and released on Nintendo. Atlus isn't a developer they are publishers so they aren't in the least resposible for development. Quest was the company that was responsible for the development of the Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre games. Yasumi Matsuno was the game designer resposible for both Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre but left Quest to work for Square. So the later Tactics Ogre titles were still done by quest but he didn't design them. Yasumi Matsuno was also the designer for the Final Fantasy Tactics games after he left quest which is probably why they are similiar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squaresoft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactics_Ogre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasumi_Matsuno |

I honestly like the Final Fantasy Series, each time a new ome comes out, they have a new idea, or something that makes the game unique from the last one.
And as the company grows older, it only puts out better and better rpgs. |

Well, he said a 'new' game, so I figured he made a typo.
