Completely random and kinda pointless post, would Byond ever have a convention?
Hmm..Doubt it..Anytime soon that is.

already propsed several times (search is your friend!), and while not actually dropped, it is difficult to organize.

[link], [link], [link] and probably several other threads in the past.

I don't honestly think its a good idea. I mean, would people be wearing name tags so we know who the users are? And then imagine having a flame war, but in real life. That would be classic to have 5 or 6 people arressted....
In response to Shades
Ha, as if. People who participate in flame wars on the internet do so because in real life they're geeks with muscular atrophy.
Why not just make an E3 style of Byond game, and participants can set up booths for their new games and show people what's going to be in them and have like, the people who don't have a stand and have a unique IP can vote on their favorite game, based on the resources seen.

Elation, while I may start a fight or two.. once and awhile... I am by no means a geek, or a weaking.

I used to take Wrestling (and was quite good) Gym 3 (weights) and a few other classes, I could probly hold my own in a fight (just not a spelling contest.. )

I also have a personal weight set I use on a normal basies to try and keep myself in some sort of shape. And fact is, if half of the people on Byond act the way they do on Byond, in real life, Id be one of the first people to be throwing a fist. Honestly Id be looking for a few certian inviduals.

So make sure to put me on your Black list when ByondCon is hosted. ;)
In response to Shades
The way I act on BYOND is noramlly the way I act in real life. This may not be the smartest way to act considering I'm not exactly strong (maybe not the brightest idea). And I'm sure I'm on a few peoples black-list as well.

*grins* This was true for me, for a while. Since I started working, however, my muscle mass has shot up. Paired with riding my bike, I don't need to go to the gym to stay in decent shape. I'm planning on getting into a gym routine all the same, though, if I can find the time -- I like being strong.

I've only gained a few pounds... for some reason I can't put on any extra weight. Even so, what's there works a lot better than before.

well there was a euroBYOND planned about two years ago to be held in north-western Germany during a long-weekend, but since none of the other people who were supposedly interested in going could make up their mind on a date, i scrapped the whole thing.

maybe we can revive it again in the future. stay tuned to digitalBYOND for notices.
Good place for a BYOND convention: Las Vegas. Cheap round trip tickets from anywhere in the world, plenty of entertainment, nice hotels, cheap food . . . you get the idea! I would go. I would go a week in advance and just hang around waiting for everybody. Vegas would be a really great spot.

.> A 13 year old kid walking around with a tag named Blakdragon77. Anyway, BYONDCon would be cool, I would go to it if I could.

I feel so threatened by your masculine boasting, Shades!
Your internet posting makes me fear for my life.

Also, while we're on this topic:
The only time the internet has threatened by well-being in real life is after I insulted this guy's mum over the internet, so he got on his bike, rode to my house, and tried to break in to beat me up. He was slamming on my door (I bolted it) for about 15 minutes. =/

We should hold the Con on a Cruise. Cruises are awesome.
In response to Elation
I guess its not a good idea to insult people who know where you live.

To Scandinavia, right?
In response to Elation
Maybe.

What's in Scandinavia? And a better question is where is Scandinavia?
