Ok this has been bugging me for months now. If someone can answer this, you've just saved my computer from being thrown out that window -_-;

I took screenshots of these when trying to Download my sisters game. When I click to download, DreamSeeker opens up and then it flicks back to AOL where the top popup is displayed. When I click 'Yes' the bottom popup appears. If I click 'No' nothing happens. This happens with all kind of downloads, but mostly when I try download byond games. It doesnt when I download demos or libraries though. :\

I'm guessing theres a configuration setting telling AOL to do this. It just started happening for no apparent reason a few hours after my brother installed a game, so maybe that had something to do with it? (unlikely but he did download something to go with it - i just get to see what he downloaded) Main problem is, I have no idea how to change AOLs settings - theres too many of them!!! I took a screenshot of the ONLY thing even remotely related to downloading files: ( I apoligize for the sheer size of it, alt+prnt scrn didnt take JUST the active window :\)

But I don't see anything about aol opening downloads as a text file

Maybe its just a feature of AOL 9.0? If so, I'm so going back down to like 8 or something ¬_¬

Thanks in Advance!!!
Have you tried right-clicking the game download link, and saving it/opening it with BYOND? It seems to me that AOL itself is trying to open the file, as it might do with a music or video file.

I wouldn't know, though, as I haven't really used AOL since my dad switched over to the free NetZero in the '90s(and by now he has switched to EarthLink, followed by MSN...glad I live with my mom---she has RoadRunner! =D)

Why not just not use the AOL Browser? Just dial in using the AOL browser, minimize it, run firefox.

Heh, wouldn't that make the already slow AOL even slower? I don't know if it would, but still, I don't like AOL at all. =D

nope- i've used AOL in the past, starting up the connection, minimized it and used another browser. AOL doesn't seem to mind - it's really only a connection manager with some bells-n-whistles added on top. no noticeable affect on speed for me.
