If a game can't live up to another previous game, then it already has gotten worse than before.
You know, I'd go so far as to say that I enjoyed FFX-2 a lot more than FF7...although I seriously enjoyed X-2 anyway. FF7's lego look to it really put me off.

I disagree, FF6 is just as good as 7 IMO. FFXII looks pretty good though. Hoping that the battle system will be more like a Star Ocean battle system or something more. That my only problem with FF game is that I hate ATB. I much rather have a system like Star Ocean where you can move around and such.

FF6 was also good, even though ff7 had crap graphics you gotta look past that. The storyline is incredible. I hope FF XII's battle system is re-vamped also, it better live up to ff7 ;-].If you enjoyed X-2 but not 7..then I don't know what's wrong with you o_O ::takes out stethoscope:: j/k

Well, to me Sephiroth was the most boring enemy I've ever seen in any video game, and Yuna in FFX-2 came off as having an early mid-life crisis. I hadn't seen something like that in a videogame character before, so it kept me interested. :P As much as she acted different, her monologue showed the same Yuna in the first game. Sephiroth felt like a gimmick with an absurdly long sword to me.

Am I the only one that loved FF8? Think about it!
"Time Compression" and "R=U Theory!" There's tons of stuff hidden in the game. |

FF8 had so many silly plot holes it's not even funny.

Are people really suckers for buying into something they enjoy? Lets just sit on that thought for a little while.

2 months? How could I have let this comment go by unresponded! :o
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_fantasy By 1987, declining interest in the FDS had placed Square on the verge of bankruptcy. At approximately the same time, Square designer Hironobu Sakaguchi began work on an ambitious new fantasy role playing game for the cartridge-based Famicom, inspired in part by Enix's popular Dragon Quest (known in the United States as Dragon Warrior). Sakaguchi had plans to retire after the completion of the project so he named it Final Fantasy because it was his final game. Final Fantasy was also going to be Square's final game. It's commonly believed that it was named Final Fantasy because of Square and not Sakaguchi. Sakaguchi himself has confirmed it was named because he was retiring. Either way, Final Fantasy turned out to be far from being Square's or Sakaguchi's last game. Final Fantasy reversed Square's lagging fortunes, and became their flagship franchise. That's where Final came from. :P |

What's in a name?
And what made FF games bearable was that each new one was a totally new setting and storyline, not just sequels. Of course now-a-days it's different. Square has seemed to sell out with X-2, "Omg moer FFVII gaems" etc. |

That's what I said, and even though it's an obvious sell-out, Advent Children looks damn awesome, so I'm still happy they are creating it and I am going to go see it.

I can't exactly remember. I know they didn't explain certain things very well such as the summons or w/e they where. If I honstly remembered the plot holes that would of show that I enjoyed the game which I didn't.

what was so bad about it?
seriously...the whole skill table thing?
is that it?
I liked that game,I enjoyed it very much it had a good story line although ffx-2 could use some work =P
X was a good game and deserves praise although it didn't live up to ff7 and no other ff game or any other game in general probably ever will.
so stop bitching about their games getting worse.
=D
