I like the layout very nice
|
The banner is WAY too large - 200 KB is huge for a website banner. If you use JPEG you can probably cut it down to 10-20 KB.
Also, the page doesn't resize to fit smaller resolutions at all, and the scrolling Javascript page title is pretty annoying. I do like the design of the page (though as digi mentioned the text could perhaps use some spiffing up), it's just the technical aspects that could use some work. =) |
"Our website name is inspired by a variety of things bands and the like. We hoped it'd attract visitors."
Hmmm, other than System of a Down, what "variety of things" inspired that name? lol Anyways, not too bad, although I can't figure out why there are those boxes along the left side, wasting space... (and I checked in FireFox, to see if that was an IE screw up, but it looks the same...) |
The graphics aside from the box thing are decent, the layout is hideous.
So, let's see here. Pointless boxes on the right taking up 1/4th of the page. Banner and sidebar for navigation not aligned together, just sitting there with no border in the middle of the page. Content is just... there. There's no container for it or anything. Personally I think your nav images and banner are way too big, but that's just me. Also, when designing with JavaScript, keep in mind that it can be disabled. I do disable it because it prevents malicious code. By the way, why in the world is the "home" button at the bottom of the nav bar? It should always be at the top. |
Ermm... for the name...
It uh... Well it's SOAD + Our site = System of a Site... yeah that's it. Yeah, those boxes on the left were a little thing I added to kill space - should I remove them, it looks better with them. |
