Harvest Moon : Friends of Mineral Town
Visual Boy Advance (emulator)

And I couldn't understand any other word he said. What's he asking help with?

Translation as best I can do..

"Hi. I found a site with HM: FoMT codebreakers, but I don't know how to use them. I use VBA, though I also have the game on my GBA - but I prefer VBA.

Could someone help?"

Basically, I believe he wants help getting codebreakers to work.
In response to JMT
i already found out.
You better watch out, the BYOND mods get really steamed if you talk about pirated anything.

Fortunately none of that was understandable enough for any of the mods to catch on.

It'd take a codebreaker of a different kind just to figure out what that meant.
In response to nick.cash
i'll see your codebreaker, and raise you one incomprehensible set of made-up runes from an out-of-print game manual.

oh, and yes, it probably would a good idea to move this topic to IM, private email, or anywhere else but the BYOND forums. it borders on the inappropriate.

Then it should be in the Community Standards.

Threads about pirating--that is, your discussions about pirating--have been deleted before. What makes this any different? In case you hadn't picked up on it yet, those threads aren't welcome on the forums.

Just because something isn't specifically listed in community standards doesn't make it okay.

Ah, ok, I didn't know this was one of those forums where moderators go on wild rides and make up rules at their own whim.

Chill out, man. It's not a 'wild ride', nor do the mods make up rules on whim- it's called common sense. It's not hard to figure out and you don't need it typed out in list form in front of you to figure out how to behave yourself.

Like when the police officer arrests me because of a rule he believes should be enforced.

But the difference is that the Police don't own the country, the people do, but the users don't own BYOND, DanTom does.
In response to Lummox JR
It SHOULD be common sense, but...well, it was never exactly common to begin with. :)

I think it could fit quite snugly right here.

Essentially, this means, avoid swearing, avoid insulting other cultures, races, or countries, avoid speaking of illegal activities, and be respectful and kind to others. There is not a tried and true rule as to the level that is too extreme, but if you find yourself questioning it, then you shouldn't do it.

Before anyone brings it up, not everybody questions what they post (whether they should or not). Otherwise you wouldn't need moderators in the first place.
In response to Scoobert
Exactly- Scoobert has it in one.
Dantom's servers and BYOND aren't some free country with all those amendments and the like; it's someone's property.

If you were round a friend's house and started acting very rudely, they'd be entitled to throw you out without having to let you sign a long "Terms and conditions" document before you wipe your shoes on the doormat. =p

Lastly, the police serve the public with their service, are paid by the people and can affect every part of an average persons's entire life.
The moderators serve BYOND, aren't paid by anyone and only affect your BYOND-life; they're simply protecting what's theirs.

Giving people advice on how to pirate software doesn't belong on the forums, if nothing else because it's a liability. While some forums may tolerate it more than others, this one doesn't. Hardly a whim, just a dollop of common sense you don't care to swallow.
