Wow, the graphics are amazing...
|
Ehh i never finished Halo 2, its such a generic shoot em up game. Sure it may have now have better graphics but thats not really a reason to get an xbox 360, wii looks promising so im probably gonna get one of those

Actually, if you look at the smoke particles system... OH NOES! It's outdated! =|
Compare the smoke from here with smoke from CoD2 or Oblivion. |
Try Quake 4, i actually finished the game, it was such a fun shoot em up game. Also theres this really awesome scene where you get turned into a strogg and you see your limbs get cut off, its really gory, most awesome thing in a game :P

How about some in battle screenshots?
Anywho, that looks nice, but all it is is high-def textures+(Bumpmaping**10). Half-Life 2 is capable of that if you allowed it to use textures of that detail(Which would probably take some tweaking of the source of Source). I'll admit that it does look good, but does the whole game look that good? What about when you are walking though the world, will the terrain look that nice? I feel that this graphics push in first person shooters is going the wrong area. Look at UT2004. The general look of it is simple, and is very easy on the graphics card(It can even run on most laptops with Intel extreme graphics chips). The gameplay, on the other hand, is fun and fast paced. UT2004 even has "large" outside maps(Not large compaired to games like BF2, but large compaired to Doom 3). In the past, the Halo games have been basiclly generic shooters, although single player was strongly story driven, multi-player left much to be desired. I guess only time will tell if the newest chapter in Halo will keep the old ways or actually start something new. |
Meh. Since I already have Quake 3, I'll keep playing it while it stays fun; and I haven't played it enough to make it non-fun.

They are OK.
Compared to some of the launch titles for the PS3, that looks like last-gen graphics. The 360 really turned me off with how they skimped on their releases, I've seen much better on my PC - and that's not saying much. I understand it's not at it's full capacity, but you don't get a second chance at a first impression. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's hardly amazing. |
It's quite funny how they use the tagline, finish the fight, as if they meant to piss off all their fans with the cliffhanger they called an ending. Chances are I'll spend a week in Wal-Mart beating it on Legendary. I've already made the mistake of buying an Xbox for the first two games, I'm not about to do it again for the third. ;)

Bah. I was going to look at that screenshot, but IGN requires registration. Screw that. Same here, Personally I hate IGN just because of the registration you have to do to view something as small as a screen shot. |
