I have the betas for Microsoft Office (as I do almost all of their available "live" products) and it's looks just beautiful. I was fricken breathless when I first saw it. It was a big difference than what I thought it would be, and much better looking.

Here's what it's supposed to feature:
- A more intuitive user interface
- Better product integration
- Improved collaboration tools
- Enhanced security
- And more...

How am I supposed to test a word processor's security and product integration? On that matter, how am I supposed to test how well it is collaborated and integrated? The user interface is nice, though.
Once again, they are reinventing the wheel when the old one as functioning great. I will keep my OpenOffice, thank you very much.
Looks nice i'm going to try it later, using 2003 right now. looks like microsoft is making office easyer to use. All of microsofts next gen produts that i tested look and function better so far.
It looks even more complicated than previous editions. =(

Rather than messing with the interface, I think Word could be hugely improved if they just started removing features. Who here has ever actually usefully used AutoSummarize?

Personally I still have Office 97. It works as well as any newer version I've tried. =P

Well, there was this one time, but, uhh, ahhh, oh yeah.
It kept mucking up so I used OpenOffice instead :-D.
Yet again, Microsoft concentrates more on the layout than the features. You see, Media Player has alot of changes too, mostly layout-changes.

Ah well, I haven't tried it yet, just viewed screenshots - so I don't really have the right to say the above.

Looks kinda the same. I thought they were going to implement this whole "no-toolbars philosophy"?
It's all clutter :[

I love openoffice. I have it on my linux partition, and it's so great. I think I used to have it for windows as well. I beleive I had an HTML editor version of it.

Yes it is. It's also much harder to use and navigate around if you're familiar with the older versions.

They really aren't toolbars.. I guess. Y'know, or don't guess. They act as tabs.
It looks spiffy, that's for sure. Does it really work that much better? I've always liked how MS Office functioned, it would be a pain if they changed that around too much.

Perhaps not that much better. I can't open Excel files directly from the file as it gives me an error. I have to actually open up Excel and choose the file. But the graphical interface has so many advantages, including previews if recent files in the open dialogue box and such.

Sounds like a bug, Don't forget it is a beta :P, Report it.
Blarg. Sorry, but to me that looks like crap!

Why change the Office interface? I mean, Word 97 looks the same as Word 2003 (more or less), and people are used to it... I don't see any need to stinking go and make it look like a preschool toy...

I pray they have a "classic" view for that new Office, or drop the seemingly cluttered interface.
