obj/selectarrow
icon='objs.dmi'

I don't see what's wrong with that code. Do you get a compile error? (I.e., does it say "Cannot compile" or something like that at the bottom of Dream Maker, or like "Error")

The only reason I could see it not working is if you don't have a icon file named "objs.dmi"

Please start speaking in english...people may start to not even listen to you. If you don't know how to code then look in the DM Referance and Guide and some of the beginner tutorials that people have pointed you too

1. Please speak English. Finish your sentences, read them through, check for spelling errors. This is a forum, not a chatroom.

2. Yes, you are a ripper. You took Strai's sourcecode, and are now trying to edit it so it'll benefit you. This is considered an act of ripping, as you are using someone else's work to try to boast.

3. What has been said is true: start from the ground up. Don't use Strai's sourcecode (it's unreadable garbage anyway), but instead take some time to read a good book. After you've finished reading the book, or in the case that you don't want to read the book but instead want to skip ahead to some trial-and-error based learning methods, look at the demos available to you. Understand the code, and try to change it so it'll do what you want. If you've mastered even one of the two, chances are that you'll have a rudimentary understanding of the DM language.

4. Whatever you do, don't work on a Dragonball Z game. There are so many out now, that you'll only look stupid. While some midbies/oldbies create successful Dragonball Z games, their games are still considered stupid by ignorant fools like myself that have been tortured by the endless spam that just won't end.
Really. Don't waste your time on DBZ.

5. Don't make a Naruto game, either. C'mon, it's DBZ for girls!

6. Learn to see the proper categories. If you're trying to code something but it just won't work (maybe there's a compile error, or there's a runtime error or it just won't work) and you've tried over and over and tried with all your might, post in Code Problems. If you have absolutely no idea on how to create something or just need general help, feel free to post in Developer How-To but keep in mind that generally you won't be given code but only hints as to figure it out yourself. Finally, Design Philosophy is the forum where you can come up with cool ideas and have others input ideas. For example, I was wondering if creating a AG-like system would hurt BYOND Members, so I queried if anyone had any objections to it and if anyone would think it would gravely harm them.

If you can follow these "rules", people will be more inclined to help you.
One more thing: don't.

You might want to watch out for that. Not everyone masters english: it could not-be their primary language, or they can be dyslexic(or however it's spelled). As English is not my primary language, I had trouble with it too - my english was horrible, but as time passes, it'll improve. But in the meanwhile, they shouldn't be flamed/confronted by their english.

if you know that he can speak english, then confronting him with it would be fine -- but I doubt you even know him.

Either you missed his point entirely, or you're compleatly stupid.

Just because English isn't someones primary language doesn't mean they can run around misspelling every single thing. O-matic meant that they might not be that far along with their english, hence the errors. That goes for grammer and everything else aswell.

O-matic, how long have you been learning English for? You seem to have it down pretty well, even more so than me, and it's been my native tounge for 16 years! Well done.

My english classes in school never really helped me, but BYOND is my first english community -- here is where I learned talking english properly. Man I was a bad-english-speaking troll when I joined BYOND. One of first posts, a true troll who keeps trying to help while he knows he can't.

I doubt my english is better than yours, though. On paper my english is pretty good, but when I try to speak it, it'll sound horrible -- my pronuncation sucks. And strangely enough whenever I write in english, I always seem to be able to find the correct words, but when I speak I hardly can make even one correct sentence.

Yeah, well, I can guarantee (100% guaranteed, or your money back) that your pronunciation of English is better than my pronunciation of your native language, so don't feel too bad. =)

Your written English is pretty darn good for a third language. If you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have guessed that English wasn't your first language; even most native speakers don't bother with correct spelling/grammar on the internet.

If I was going to nitpick, I could point out that English is usually capitalised (because it's a proper noun), "pronunciation" has two Is, "one of first posts" should read "one of my first posts" and "here is where I learned talking english properly" is awkward; "this is where I learned English properly" is better.

But I'm just being a grammar nazi in the above paragraph. =) Native speakers make worse mistakes all the time just from typos.

Well, yeah - but Dutch is not as important as English in live. Because Dutch is only used in the Netherlands and Belgium (I think a few other ex-colonies(spelling?) too), but english can be used everywhere. Ah well. >_>

See what I meant with "this is where I learnt <s>talking</s> english properly"? =P
