is anybody still planning or working on a .hack game? i wonder if there is a skilled coder that can actually make people go from one persons server to another.
If by "another person's server" you mean an actual physical server hosted on another machine, then it's fairly simple. However, you cannot force them to go. They will always be prompted before logging out of the first server.

If you mean a virtual server (part of the game on the same server), then that is also possible. However, that actually is more complex than the previous option.

Except that Dantom's HostServer causes DreamSeeker to not ask before redirecting the player. I wonder why.

Possibly it's allowed if the .dmb is within the trusted directory? Ie: I have a sub folder in my main game folder for each server. Each of these are up and running. Perhaps travel to these worlds are deemed auto-ok because they're within the directory?

Well do you think it is possible to make a game like this? You can have this idea and include me in the credits if you like. I wanna help but im a newbie coder so i could help with the ideas but the maps and the layout and also the battle syste will be really complacted because in the real game, you move the camera around but if made using byond then attacking the enemies will be alot much harder dont you think?

This game can be possible, The battle system dosn't have
to follow. it can just be a turn-based battle system so This could be a good game to make. The graphics and characters would be hard though.

If by idea, you mean the multi servers idea, you are far from the first to think of this. Many people have, we have delogated the possitives and negetives, and have never had the right time or place to use it. I could set up something that would do that right now if I wanted too, it is rather simple to send a person from one server to another, handling character info is a bit harder though.

do you really think its possible that creating a multi-server would work? I mean that if you give the data to somebody to edit their own server than thats gonna be a little bit harder or something.
ham warrior or hintsu nishiboto or w.e his other key is has a .hack game..but it doesnt go form server to server..
In response to Jusbie1
No, you have your own servers, the player never gets access to his save file. I dont see why it is not possible.

Is his game on right now?
In response to Jusbie1

Well someone keep me posted because I would like to try that game and also maybe I may want to help out or something(I cant really be more specific)

Ok, its been two years and now im wonderin... is someone still thinking of making a .hack game? Even tho I heard its kinda hard. isn't there some way for someone to create a save code where their save file can save on the users computer instead of the server?
In response to Jusbie1
Why would it be hard to make a .hack game? I haven't read the other posts but I've even thought about making one a few times but probably am not going to. There is a way to save savefiles onto the player's computers but I heard that it is a bit more complicated than regular saving.

Was it really necessary bumping a post over two years old? -,,-

I wasn't the one who bumped it. Look above. >_> And he asked a question on this again instead of making a new post which is encouraged, is it not?

ok, well like what divine said... i might as well stop asking in this post since it was 2 years old already. Since theres a good .hack game out right now... i'll just discuss with him about save files so thanks Exophus.

I couldn't help but point out that that .hack game isn't good. :\
