This should go under classified ads next time(but don't repost, a mod will move it). Also, I beleive you're givinh false claims..0_0 You say you are a very experienced coder, BUT you can't understand nor make the 'codes' in the Pokemon Source code in your possession..There probably won't be many people to help you improve upon a potential rip, but if you want to learn how to program and be able to make basically any type of game you want, click here.

I don't know why people bother posting the DM guide now. Its been useless since 16 months ago.

Not true. Despite the raft of new features that have been added since it was written, it's still a very solid introduction to DM. Anyone fully grasping all the concepts presented in the DM Guide should have no trouble with understanding and using the new features.

i have been coding for 3 years but i ussually do it from scratch and i ussually make PVP games. I wanted to make a game like peral and diamond because i dont have a DS XD. So i downloaded the source at first hoping to learn something from it and make my own game non-rip. But i did not understand the way it was coded. I dont know if its jus his coding style or if its just the game or possibly if its sloppy idk. But i have not been giving out "false information". I just need some help so im asking.

Introduction I give it that, but you can't really link it to good games, the point of BYOND.

...You can link it to 'good and proper programming', which is definetely a point of 'good games', too, and many many people don't have that base because they haven't read the guide.

Good and proper programming, if basic, comes from the guide.

People don't want to see text games which only have a say verb.

Truely though, if you've programmed that long you should be able to get the gist of what it does even if it is sloppy or just their style of programming(I have programmed for 3 years and am not the best progammer ever, but I can understand other people's code). I'd suggest you just make your own.

Even though the guide isn't up to date it teaches you everything you need, after that you can consult the refrence for the procs/vars it doesent include. I don't think any good programmer (who was here after the guide) in DM hasn't learned alot from the guide. For more specific things like bit flags or datums you should check out BYONDscape.

Oh really?

Why haven't I learned jack-crap from the guide?

Because you don't READ it, you don't PRACTICE it!
All you do is glance at it and dismiss it as being useless.
You have to do the DM guide IN ORDER while reading over it fully, and practicing EVERYTHING from it.

I really, hope 'you' is not referring to me, since you replied to my post :)

The DM guide is probably one of the best sources to get a basic grip on the language. That's where I learned everything I know about coding.

Ofcourse not was reffering to king of slimes. You should know you not an idiot in coding ;)
