Homebrews on PSP. Do they wreck your psp or hardware because some of my friends say yes it does wreck your system others say no it doesn't. I'm quite torn because i would like to make a game for psp but if it wreck my system then no but if i can find a program the professional developers use then i will still continue.
if you go to legit sites then no, there is nothing dangerous about adding homebrew to your psp.

i usually go to http://qj.net
Well unless homebrew has changed drastically over the last few months for the PSP, the homebrew scene for the PSP can be one huge pain in the ass.

Right now, Sony has been putting updates out for the Sony PSP that make it near impossible for you to play unsigned applications on your Sony PSP.

Users are left with a few choices:

They can switch between firmwares on their PSP. This requires more then just a software download. It can be a pain in the ass to do.

They can buy and install a modchip, which will allow them to run unsigned software and even play back-up Sony PSP games on their PSP. This can not only be moderately expensive, but can be dangerous, as messing with the insides of your Sony PSP not only voids the warranty, but also may cause your Sony PSP to break if you are not careful.

Some people simply choose not to update their PSP at all. The newest games require the newest firmwares, but lets face it, the Sony PSP doesn't have the greatest games on the market right now to begin with, it is because of this, a lot of people would rather be able to use the homebrew applications then play the normal gamea altogether.

i have custom firmware on my psp so im pretty sure it would work. But is their anyway to make a homebrew to work like a game you bought on the newest firmware versions?

If you already have a custom firmware on your Sony PSP then you should already know most if not all of this crap already.

To be able to run any unsigned data you have to get either a custom firmware, an old firmware, a mod chip or like this dashboard software that will let you switch between firmwares.

And if you already knew where to get a custom firmware and how to install it, the rest should be known it. Don't be a baby and expect people to hand stuff to you, there are tons of sites out there. I mean you already started to learn, you should just keep on going on your own.

Also I go to the afterdawn forums myself.

Also you can downgrade from 3.50 right now, as long as you got the game Lummnies (spelt right?) and the epolit downloaded.

Last I heard, they just sent out a new patch that renders the Lumines exploit useless..But other than that, I don't know anything about PSP homebrew.
