RaeKwon here, how's everyone doing?
I've not been working lately and have had quite a bit of spare time on my hands, so I've considered re-making DB-Zeta 'again'. I'll keep everybody posted on the progress, and I hope that Nick contacts me so I can get my forum password back.
I'll drop in the game now and then to say hello aswell.
OK, honestly the title of this post was a little random, but meh.
Anyways, so the most ripped game on BYOND is becoming remade? Not sure if thats good news or bad news. Too bad it is an anime game.
Although I must say when I was first beginning to code I did use a lot of your demos to help me learn how to do what needed to be done. So, while I abhor the very existence of Zeta, I guess I can see how this plays out.

I think the most ripped game on byond now is Rebirth or Elyisum :P Haven't played that much, so maybe those are rips of zeta too?

Rebirth and Elysium is estentally the same thing. There is like a 500 page story that goes along with the whole damn thing. It is far too much drama though.

Yes, Rebirth/Rebirth Revised/Elysium/Oblivion 2/Zen/Gekisen/and to an extent, Dragon Ball Online 1 are all rips of Zeta.

Hey Cappa Kyle :)
Why don't you try to make something a little different? Could make for some more fun. Stray away from your norm, and see what else you can make up.

Don't listen to these guys--I think it would be nice for the original makers of Zeta (you should invite Dracon back, wherever he may be) to show those little rippers how a Dragonball game is made. Zeta was truly revolutionary for it's time.

The latest version of Zeta was very un-Dragonball Z if you ask me. He was going in a better direction with his last Dragonball Project, but then ditched it or something.

Hey Stealth, I'm amazed you are still around here! I don't know, I've thought about it.. I might just continue with my old Realm of Mordor project.. DragonBall Zeta has too bad of rep, and I'm getting some rather discouraging emails from some people that used to play it. *points fingures*

I was pretty absent for the past 2-3 years, but have surfaced recently. Not doing much. Just hosting Skysaw's game "My Life as a Spy"... Seems to make a reasonable amount of people happy. Just go with something different. I would imagine it would be more fun, and exciting to start making something new...just because you never know what you'll think up next :)

Well I wouldnt be interested in a 'hardcore' dragonball Z game any more. It would have to incorporate other elements, like my game, it has building, planetary conquest, space battles, crafting, and other things, its only mildly based on Dragonball & Z.

Yes, Elysium was a rip of a rip of Zeta (although heavily edited), and Rebirth is (OBVIOUSLY) a rip of Elysium. These dumb noobs need to just learn to code and stop making pointless boring badly made rips. And when they DO come across a game that is original their first impulse is to log out instantly thinking 'dis gam r sux i r stped nubz' because they cant handle anything not ripped.

My games are the only active nonrip dragonball games left. Other than Heroes United which may not be a rip but it sure is poorly coded I think.

That game is totally a rip. It uses the same icons, same login system, the same verbs grouped differently, the same bugs, and a couple of extra fighting features. Looks like the same code base, if you ask me. Oh, and don't forget same styles of output.

If you say so, my game uses a list based login system completely unlike Rebirth, you can even remove and add features to the login system ingame using admin commands such as new races and edit what skills they will have and what stat advantages and disadvantages they have, and what icon they will have.

I would show you the source and you would totally know then but I wont risk it being exposed publicly.

You sound like someone who logged in for 5 seconds then logged back out. To judge every feature in my game would literally take hours, I have provided depth levels almost no other game on byond has. You probably didnt do any minigames, space combat, fighting, adventuring, building, crafting, or anything. You probably logged in, hit train, saw they you werent gaining any "PL" then logged out.
Its true isnt it, you really cant ever truly quit byond.
-_-, things havnt changed that much in 4 years. I look forward to seeing what you can do with dragonball nowadays raekwon. Goodluck. (dont worry about people who are mad at the zeta name simply because it was a huge success and subsequently was leaked, it was popular for a reason. I joined BYOND to play Zeta back when Dracon was owner of it, a very long time ago. And i dont think the concept of Dragonball Zeta ever really got "Finished" in any real sense. And now you can take advantage of 4.0, should be something interesting).
I wonder if this means Nick's all elusive version 48 will get finished. The ideas he bothered to even reveal to anyone were pretty awesome and unique.
