http://dragonis.no-ip.org: Animal Forest web site.
Animal Forest is a strict RP game, designed by me and written in the java language, with a very similar feel of BYOND. You can sign up on the forums, post bugs you find, or throw in a suggestion. The game is in Open Beta Testing, so don't expect it to be completely perfect! But please be sure to check the game/forums out.
The site looks very basic right now, but I'll "pump" it up soon with interesting colors and descriptions and screen shots of the game. If any of you are good with CSS/HTML, feel free to contact me and help me better visualize the Animal Forest site.
You need to download the client in order to actually play the game. Just go to the downloads page on http://dragonis.no-ip.org/ (obviously), and extract the folder somewhere on your computer and run the .jnlp (the auto updating client).

Apparently there was a problem with the client. But I fixed it all, sorry guys. I typo'd a folder path so it didn't send up the right version. But the game works now! Sorry all who tried.

Wasn't animal forest supposed to be originally done in BYOND as a tribute to Hedge and her game?
|
It was done in BYOND. I'm just turning the game into java to make it more portable and accessible to the public.

Some posts got deleted on this topic? odd. :< must have been the byond forum admins. oh well.

Im sorry this is off topic, but what compiler do you use to compile your java environment? That made no sense. Remember that java, IIRC, can only be compiled by the Sun Java Compiler. You can activate the compiler from an IDE (Intergrated Development Environment), which is what you meant for compiler in that statement. Sorry that I didn't have an on-topic posst but when someone says that a compiler and IDE are the same thing...I just hate when people say that. |

Remember that java, IIRC, can only be compiled by the Sun Java Compiler. *BUZZ* wrong answer! but thanks for playing! "As of 2006, the following are major Java compilers: * javac, included in JDK from Sun Microsystems, open-sourced since the 13 November 2006. * GCJ, a part of gcc which compiles C, Fortran, Pascal and other programming languages besides Java. It can also generate native code using the back-end of gcc. * ECJ, the Eclipse Compiler for Java, is an open source incremental compiler used by the Eclipse JDT. * Jikes, an open source compiler from IBM, which is written in C++ and uses a variant of static single assignment form for optimization. As of early 2007 the project is no longer being actively developed [1]." wikipedia (among other references) is your friend! |

It doesn't work for me, I press register nothing happens. I press login nothing happens. =/

Does the right arrow not work? When I press the up arrow my guy goes right, and theres no way to go up...Weird. Also the FAQ section of your website is a 404.
EDIT: Nevermind about the arrows I fixed it in options =P EDIT2: Movement is really choppy =/ |
Sounds like a bad excuse. You should look into that instead of blame it on another person's computer.
|
Lol who knows. All I know is I can play MMO's and The Sims 2 fine with no lag, but Animal Forest is choppy. O.o

Hmm. Those are 3d. This is 2d. Weird though. I really don't know what to tell you. I just reduced some of the drawing "time wasters", so it should run a little bit more smooth. But I doubt it'll help much for you.
