I just thought that it would be nice in some situations to have an extra option to the "Advanced Find/Replace" feature. At the moment it has "This File", "Included Files" and "All Files".
What it needs, is "Selected". If I made a mistake somewhere in multiple lines, I could just drag my mouse over the selected code and replace it without damaging the rest of the file!
It would be nice, so, consider it.

Yea this would be nice, I tried doing that but it never worked sadly :/

Replace Within Selection has been requested before. Unfortunately, the current replace method actually relies on making selections in order to replace them, so the concepts are mutually incompatible for the time being. Maybe someday, though.

its been requested before ([link], and that wasn't the first time it was requested) and someone graciously offered a solution ([link]) :-)
also, a handy thing that DM already has is that ctrl + click selects an entire word. if you spell a variable name incorrectly in several places it is easy to ctrl + click the proper spelling, copy, and ctrl + click and paste over each of the incorrect spellings. |

But that would replace everything by that name.
What if I have two variables, Peanut and Peanuts. Instead of Peanut I entered Peanuts in some places, but I don't want to rename everything named "Peanut" only in my selection. That's why this feature would be useful. |

This should be way too obvious to mention, but 'cause of all those posts and you still go about "there's no solution", you can always just select your block o' code, copy it, create a new DM file right there within Dream Maker, paste it there and Find & Replace, then copy it back. No external programs needed and it's simple enough, so this suggestion isn't that much of a big deal.

But that would replace everything by that name. did you try it? it would perform the replacement only on the highlighted text. if that's not what you're asking for then you need to explain yourself more clearly. |

I don't need to use it right now, just saying. It would be one hell of a feature. =P
