My figure of speech comment that really wasn't my point turned into a serious debate between people...
Seriously Tom and Lumnox, you should consider having a monthly subscription for the site, 4-5 dollars a month, I understand paypal fees, but they at max take 10%. A lot of people would rather pay 4-5 dollars a month, it would help the site profit something, at least, I wish you guys would test it. With most websites like Crunchyroll their 7 dollar monthly plan is the most popular by far, even though they have a 3 month plan for about 15 dollars, and a year plan for 60. It works, I am sure it will help the site, somewhat.

Alright, and another thing http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/byond.com WTF, why did BYOND Alexa rank drop over 115,000 in the past 3 months? it went from one of the top 80,000 most viewed sites and now it is in the 200,000's.

School year. At the end of every summer, our traffic slumps.

we scared all the BRs away
Keyword Percent of Search Traffic
1. space station 13 7.38%
2. byond 6.62%

Heh. SS13 brings BYOND more traffic than BYOND does. xD

We kind of already knew this, it's no big surprise.

Why would BYOND bring any traffic? It's not like they advertise at all anywhere ever, considering they only expect all the successful games to advertise for them.

I'd still like a vlog from Tom. Something Kickstarter-y that could be shared would be cool.

It seems like the first couple of pages of games on the website listing has finally started shifting around a bit, so hopefully things are picking up. 500 Should be either causing that, or help make sure things do pick up, so maybe after a little bit more the advertising for BYOND its self can pick up.

I doubt Tom and Lummox will do much of it directly, but I'm sure members of the community could manage a few things to get the keyword popping up more frequently, and in better places.

It's a tough thing to do with all the negative already out there from the past, but that does mean that every little bit of positive counts right?

Yea. It would help if more of BYOND's community used the forum, for example.

Yes. But he most likely won't it seems :/
He might if we post about nothing other than wanting Tom to do a vlog.
If everything was right, there would be a few games bringing like 40% of the traffic, and byond being down in the single digits in percentage of traffic. There's way more people playing minecraft than there are developers in java.
The problem is both a lack of quality games and the fact that nobody advertises them outside of BYOND. BYOND.com is the sole game portal for its games.

I've never thought of it like that. That's an interesting idea.
And to tell someone they have to download BYOND and register and all that for a game does not usually go well.
It would be cool, if we had that thing where you can make your account with facebook(you just log into facebook, accept the permissions and the website takes all the data from facebook and signs you up like that), that saves me so much time(Wouldn't hurt if you added Google and Twitter, as other ways to make your account.). Anymore, I really only sign up to websites that have that feature. TOM ADD THIS FEATURE!
I disagree. I think there might need to be some sort of agreement between BYOND and Facebook in order for this to happen. I don't use social media myself, but have used Facebook before. Plus, when an account has been made, you never have to worry about making it again.

The only site I use other than BYOND is Tumblr, but I hardly ever go on that or post things on it anymore.
