What are some old & addictive PC games that were insanely addictive? I'm hoping to find some at my local used game stores.

Prince of Persia. Monkey Island.

I personally cannot stop playing Jagged Alliance 2. If you get it, check out the community-made patch that adds a ton of new weapons and features to the game - it's well worth taking a look at.

Chips Challenge is a really fun, addictive, puzzle game from the windows 3.1 era. And for some reason, I still have not have had a problem even running it on XP.
The entire Monkey Island series by George Lucas Games is fantastic. It is a fun, addictive, adventure/comedy about pirates. Manic Mansion remastered is also another great adventure game by the same company and don't forget to get the sequel - Revenge of the Tentical. Fallout 1 and 2 are classic RPGS and should be in any computer users collection. BUT, don't forget to get the Fallout 2 restoration mod, which adds over 6 new areas and like 20 extra quests, it makes the game even better then before, while fixing a ton of glitches. The Wizadary series is also a really good collection of first person RPGs. It is a little too paper and pencil for some people, but it is still a classic. Don't forget Ultima 6 either, one of my favorites. Lemmings is also a fantastic puzzle game. And no one can forget Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake or Duke Nukem 3D. |

Well, back in the day when I was still in elementary school I was highly addicted to Age of Empires II. But that's because it was my friend's game and it wasn't mine. It can be addicting for about half a year or more. I was addicted for the entire year. |
I would have to say Chips Challenge, the ski game that came with windows 95, and Liero.

All of the old Sierra adventure-style games are always fun (Leisure Suit Larry, Space Quest, King's Quest, etc).
The original Half Life can still be fun, as well. |
