He's not new, and I don't think he meant himself. Then again, his post was so extremely vague and short it's silly.

nah its a friend hes kind of new to online games like ones on BYOND and he doesnt understand alot of the terms e.g GM and things like that. And its hard for me to explain because uhhh I give vague explanations.

That is probably for the better. If he doesn't know what it means, then he will probably never use that horrible and overused acronym.

You all made the unfounded assumption that he is actually a DM programmer/learning to be one in the first place. =P

I would ask this new member what he wants to do, does he just want to play games? does he want to icon, map, code, etc then i would point him/her in the right direction.

Well point him to the BYOND suite teach him how to load up games and anything else you know about playing, teach him the way of hosting if he wants and when the time comes point him to the DM GUIDE and REF or even point him now tell him to read it over and over.
