I am trying to find a screen capture program, thats free forever, just unlimited use.

Also, however, I need to be able to move it frame by frame in so that I can see exactly what a potion of text says that keeps passing so fast by my screen...

.....did you try alt+Print Screen maybe?

what does that even do?

also, a screen recorder, not where it does pics, but video capture.

It just takes a picture of what ever is on screen. You can then paste it into paint or whatever else. Video wise, though I don't know, I haven't had the need to use one.

Camtastia is a free trial IIRC.

Well, obviously I won't get what I want because it doesn't exist or nobody really understands what I want.

Is there any program I can use to edit my videos frame by frame, and add transitions, will also allow me to delete each frame if i dont want it in and such.

I have good screen capturing, but thought one that did capture might also do edit, which was I guess my mistake.

That is an even better reason to use Google to find out what you want. If we don't understand what you want, then you'll have a better time finding what you need by laying it out to Google. Chances are that Google knows of this type of program rather than us.

To elaborate on your actual question, however, most freeware screen recording software won't have any sophisticated form of video editing, so you may have to consider purchasing professional software in order to meet your demands. Either way, do a Google search.

Screen capture programs don't edit; go get Adobe After Effects (more for effects) or Sony Vegas (more for editing, cutting etc.).

IIRC, windows movie maker can also edit videos.

The free (and useful) VirtualDub can also do that, as well as capturing and more: http://www.virtualdub.org/

I don't think you can edit each frame though.

Or you didn't spend any time searching for it. The very first link from searching for 'free video editing software' is this one, which details 5 free pieces of software which can all do what you're asking for. One of which is a standard part of Windows.

Please spend a little time researching things before asking others about it =)

I did, also, the only thing that comes with windows is windows movie maker thing, which does transitions and stuff, but does not allow for frame to frame editing, so trying to get to an exact frame would be sorta hard with that.

Also, with windows movie maker, u would think at the bottom does frame by frame, but does not for imported videos, and has an interface where you can cut stuff out just pause at a point then do it, but usually turns out rather rough, and then transition adding is rough as well, and hard to work with for imported videos.

EDIT:Second one is for mac.

Also, I am looking at these other 3 however for seeing if they allow what I need which is video editing frame by frame and nice video transitions.

Yes. But again, the very first link I provided shows you 5 free programs, 4 of which are for Windows and 3 of which can do what you're looking for.

In general, free programs for Windows trying to emulate what thousand-dollar software does is usually far worse. If you want something nice, you're going to have to shell out money for it or find alternate ways to get the software.

The first cant do what I want.

The second isnt for my OS.

The third, the link is down, saying its no longer available.

The fourth, and the fifth, i am still checking out.

EDIT:The fith link takes me to a windows movie maker download page, and its an older version than the one that comes with sp3.

However, the fourth link given there, it seems a reasonable program, I am going to try that one out.

Also, someone else here gave another link for something called VirtualDub or something, I will have a look at that as well.

EDIT:Well, I re-tried the fifth link again, it seems only the image takes u to micrsoft movie maker page, i can still took a look at that one as well.

So I have still 3 programs that I am able to choose from, and hopefully one will do what I need it to do.

I have also searched google for along time trying to find one, but most of them u have to pay for, a short trial version, or not enough functionality. (or otherwise, not frame by frame editing)
