Well there is this one...
http://www.byond.com/developer/MSProduction/DBZSource
try using the Search feature in your Byond Top Right corner of this page, and search through the resources... there are codes and sources availiable to the public for DBZ games.

if you want to play the same quick lvl1, your gonna have to mod it uself, lol

No, No, No!

Don't point people in the direction of using source codes. Instead, use the DM Guide!

That all depends on the person.
If you are 100% new, and don't know where to start, looking at other codes can help you learn.

I've read the guide many times, and I can't understand most of it becasue of my Asperger's Syndrome.

just becasue there is a guide and you read it, doesn't mean you will understand it easily, in my opinion, it's better to view the codes in action and learn that way.

but that's my own opinion because I learn slower than most people.
what u expect from a person that's been in Special Education all their life...

No.

No matter how new he is, pointing him to a source is a horrible idea. None of the sources are programmed well and they are all programmed in the programmers style, which could differ for him.

If he must learn by code, it would be a much better idea to read the guide, try multiple times himself, look through the forum, and then post on the forums so others can help him with code.

The only thing you are contributing to here is another rip.

The source you linked to would teach them bad practices and they would not know what they are doing other then by trial and error (lack of comments).

That is your situation, which does not mean it is for everyone else.

Again, this is a trial-and-error method of learning and definitely not the best way to learn. The DM Guide, despite being outdated, teaches you the basics of the DM language, such as syntax. It doesn't teach you a specific way of making a game as you can make them through numerous ways.

but that's my own opinion because I learn slower than most people.

Yes but please, for future reference, send them to a link similar to this article, which introduces the new-programmer-to-be to helpful links, such as ZBT tutorials.

Giving links to sources doesn't help much as it will lead to poor rips (which basically have easier leveling and more power-abusive "GM"s).

I expect better. Using your disability as an excuse for giving out bad advice is... kinda pathetic.

In the words of the boy in the Emo-Elmo toy commercial spoof from Mad TV: "You're not the only one with problems!"

Edit: Anyone else found this post insensitive? :/

I learned a little of what I know by looking at guides (Mainly Zilal's) But those are just to give you the basics of it all. I didn't really learn much until I got my hands on a source code. But unfortunately I didn't know what was considered good or bad - and I learned off of a kinda crappy code, and that immensely effected my coding style.

I'm not talking about huge advanced codes... I'm talking about the basics.

That's what the resource downloads are for, so if you don't know how that's done, there are examples availiable.

You don't have to learn from the DMguide for everything.
I've read through it, but becasue of my problems, comprehending it is super difficult for me.

seeing how it's done, helps you to learn how to implement your own ideas.
Of course I refer to the DMguide now and then, but that's as i'm learning from the coding, and seing it being used.

I'm not saying to use the rips, but to examine the coding that is there, and coming up with ideas on how to implement them into your own game creatons and pmprove onto them codes.
