It'd be nice to be able to see how many people have downloaded it.

Your file host may tell you. For example, under files in the BYOND members files options, it tells you how many times a file was downloaded.

If you're talking about the file manager, that doesn't help if there are multiple versions of the same file. E.g. one file is deleted to make room for an uploaded file of the same type. AJX has a valid point. |

Also, libs can be hosted directly on your hub entry, they don't have to be put in the files section. Yes the files section shows downloads, but that isn't even in use here so it doesn't matter. Also, it'd be nice if it was separate.
I seem to remember a total downloads and a downloads this version... Those would be just fine. :\ |

Really? Unless this was changed in the last 3 days you are mis-informed, as I hosted a lib in that manner.

You may still be able to do this, however it won't be that way for much longer, see id:685371.

Why would they want to get rid of that feature? I like that feature :( It makes it so easy, as opposed to having to find a free file hosting, sign up, and then spend upwards of a few more minutes for it to upload (depending on your internet connection), then getting the download link for it.

One reason would be to create more incentive to become a member.

The obvious reasons would be abuse of the mechanism and the hassle of managing rogue and malicious uploads. Plus I'd imagine disk space might also factor in as a concern, there are a lot of us after all.

If they reduce the outrageous cost of $15 a month, more people may consider it...

It's $18 for one year, $30 for two years, and $60 for five years.

Orly? >.month. Dang haha. But in any case, I'm broke right now as I've just recently upgraded my old computer from 80's standards to 90's standards xD

I used the $ sign as far as I know, which the United States (and its territories) is the only country to use that currency symbol.

Could we keep the posts relevant to the original post, please.

Couldn't you make a counter from HTML/CSS on your hub to count however many times a specific link was clicked on?

Not with HTML and CSS, you would need to know another language.
