That's crazy. Makes one feel old.

And that's also funny. Hi Tibby!
I see Pikachu & Clefairy... The rest are unfamiliar.

The pink one, I want to say that's one of eevee's evolution named Sylveon

The one on the right of that, that pokemon is Shinx

Then the last one, I'm not sure.. but it looks like a ghost pokemon.
Pikachu, Clefairy, Skitty, Luxio, and Zorua.

You're welcome.
Ahh! Skiddy, there we go. I knew it was one of them, I just couldn't remeber this name.

And eh, well. I named his 1st evolution. :D i still smart.
I'm amused by this =)

I love that they included an example of each item in each shot, so you can compare the "evolution" of different elements.

Aside from the landscape tiles (grass, pathway, cliff, etc.), each slice includes the player and a follower Pokemon, a sign, a pokeball, an NPC facing the camera, an NPC in profile, and an NPC in the water (well, except for the fourth generation on this last one).

That's neat!

[Edit:] Oh, and the only Pokemon I would have recognized was Pikachu. I'm familiar with Clefairy, but I wouldn't have immediately guessed that was the one in the second slice (I can see it now that it's been said, but I wouldn't have made the identification myself). Guess the fact that I've never seriously played any Pokemon games might be the reason for that...
I've kept a loose connection with the games over the years, but I definitely invested most of my time in the earlier games. The 3rd Generation games I played the most.

Pikachu, Clefairy, Skitty, and that looks like.. Luxray
The last one I'm not familiar with.
I still remember hiding in the long black tubes in the school yard with my little gameboy light while playing Pokemon Red with my friends. Good times. There was something so magical about Pokemon back then.
can't wait October 12th ftw.

Actually that's not necessarily Clefairy. Several Pokemon shared the same "mini" sprite during the 1st and 2nd generation of Pokemon games. Togepi, for example, was also represented by that sprite in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Pokemon didn't start getting accurate mini sprites until the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald generation.

The fact that none of you knew this shows how superior my Pokemon knowledge is compared to you all. You all are pitiful, begone from my sight.

BEGONE FROM MY SIGHT, FINE SIR.
Irrelevant... It's Clefairy either way.

It's a sprite that resembles Clefairy but was used to represent several different Pokemon in the generation 1 and 2 games. Why are you even still in my sight, bro?

Similar to how the bird in the bottom row represented almost every flying type in those games.
teh memories.
