What happened to all the Libraries and Demos? Every single one seems to be removed.
Um no...is your web browser preventing you from downloading them? If you are using Google Chrome this is most likely the problem, I just open up an Internet Explorer page and copy and paste the link of what I want to download in it.

If you for some reason can't find them:

just use the recommanded Firefox its so much easier not to mention for windows users its also the safest browser to use

On my computer Crysis/Prince of Persia/Lost Planet/EVE Online loads faster than Firefox, why would I use Firefox?

Thanks ( : that's exactly the case.

Just download the new Byond version.

The bug isn't fixed. Since it's Google's bug, it's not fixed until they fix it. The new BYOND version however works around their bug as best it can. I still recommend that people report Chrome's URL mangling to Google so they can fix it, and that people use a real browser at least in the interim.

You are, in some capacity, part of BYOND's development team. It's surprising, even off-putting, to see such a negative attitude towards bugs in another program when BYOND certainly has its share of problems. I guess I'll start recommending that people use real game development tools until BYOND's bug tracker empties out.

My attitude towards Chrome has nothing to do with any bugs it has. I expect any new piece of software is going to have issues and a browser is going to have an above-average number of them. This particular one is annoying, but I have no reason to expect Google won't fix it eventually, especially if people continue to report it as they should. The reason I refer to Chrome as not a real browser is that as browsers go, it's based off an inferior layout engine (Webkit, the driver behind Safari). I've said the same of IE for a decade and a half, but in fairness to IE version 8 is known to suck a great deal less than its forebears.

Developers with opinions! Oh no!

Lol, Safari and Chrome are inferior when it's compared to something like Firefox or even IE 8.
Personally I use Firefox because it never gives me issues, though every time I hear something about Safari or Chrome it's always complaints, at least that's what I hear.
As for calling it a real browser, I agree with Lummox, If such a large and successful company such as Google can't fix a simple bug in there browser then you really shouldn't give them much credit, while people such as Lummox have already found a temporary workaround for it, as such if anyone should be appreciated it's the Byond development team for actually doing what they can about it.

I used to use Firefox for long time, but then switched to Chrome. Reason was simple - I was able to start games faster than Firefox and Chrome window appears nearly instantly. I'm talking about games such as EVE Online, Aion, Prince of Persia : The Forgotten Sands and etc.

WebKit was arguably the first layout engine to pass the Acid3 test and it's still one of few engines that does pass. These test results are very important to browser vendors - they're all trying to pass. Being the first to pass doesn't necessarily make it the best layout engine ever. It is, however, very unlikely that an "inferior" layout engine could even pass the test, let alone be the first.

Picking a web browser is like picking a car. Drive whatever you're comfortable driving. If you like your '94 two-door Honda more than a new BMW because the seat is comfy and you don't like the way the BMW smells, then stick with your Honda. If you like the way the buttons look in Firefox better than Safari then use Firefox. You don't need to dig up technical details to justify your decision. No matter how superficial it seems, your preference is all the justification you need.

Such is the spirit in which sentiments like "use a real browser" are expressed.

Well, I agree chrome does start fast, it's probably the fastest however the compatibility issues it has make the experience, for me, pointless in most cases. Firefox does take a good four seconds to start for me (that's relatively slow for most people), but personally I don't mind the wait, especially when I'm using it to fly around byond half the time.

This thread has completely jumped off the track. If it's solved it's solved, there's nothing more to discuss :/

It really isn't that big of a deal Leur.

I had installer running, so it slowed down things but still.

I started Firefox, waited 10-20 seconds. Closed Chrome, made sure all processes of it are closed (glanced at task manager). Started Chrome again and loaded all my old tabs, only now Firefox window appeared.
