The problem is when I'm in view of a house icon, my player gets blurry. Now if i change the icon from a detailed icon i got from the art society, to just a square block of color, there is no quality loss or blurriness. Is this because the colors in the detailed icon aren't native to Byond's or something, or is it on my side?

Below is the only coding in the game. The problem is when I'm in the same area as the house icon, my player gets blurry. Is your map control stretch-to-fit...ing?

Its stretch to fit but i don't mean there is a general quality loss, its only when im in the screen of this house. But if i change the icon of the house into something more simple then there is no quality loss. I took some screen shots below, also i realized when i take a screenshot from byond there is no visible quality loss in the pictures, but when i do print screen there clearly is. So i guess, since byond is sending what it sees and print screen is printing what i see, this means its on my side. But at the same time i can view it fine in the picture viewer and websites so it has to be on byonds side?

From Byonds File->Save Screenshot. No visible quality loss

What i see and from print screen. Click to zoom full and look at my character.

When saving a screenshot via BYOND, it will disable stretch-to-fit which would explain the different results.

The house image - is that a JPEG?

Its an image i copied onto paint, then i copied a section of it onto the DM icon editor. So i guess its a DMI.

I suppose I don't understand what is occurring. If stretch-to-fit is enabled, you're always going to see quality loss.
It sounds as though you're saying the quality only degrades when you're in view of that specific house?

It was an option in Byond's preferences. I had to check "Use graphics hardware for displaying maps" in the games tab.

Alot of other people seemed to have this problem from my searches and only one person had it solved so just posting in case anyone read my problem and had a similar one.

ty btw Murra.
