Hey there byond world. I'm making a new project, a fan game of my fav show SOUL EATER (don't steal my idea!!! >=/ ) While codeing. I thought of making the pets weapons like in the show. I found a cool lib that helps, but I want to make the pets turn into an item the player can use to fight with and give the player a stat boost. In addition the player can put clothing on the pet. Any one know of a lib, program, or anything to help, I would appreciate it.

Of course, and you making a game based off of an existing IP is stealing their idea, hence the copyrights. As for your request for help, there probably aren't any libraries specific to what you're asking for, but this should be fairly easy to program yourself, if you know what you're doing.
Plus, I'm pretty sure there's a C&D for Soul Eater via Square Enix, and not really allowed on BYOND, even with the more open policy of late. | |
I always wondered this. If I made a game, for example, One Piece. Called it One Piece:Manga. Took the time to change everything in Black and White. Could I get sued?

Yes, absolutely so. You're using the likeness and name of another person/company's intellectual property without consent, they can sue(and would win).

If it references or has similarities to the Show, I don't think it's going to work out well for you.
Honestly if you wanted to make a One Piece game use the concepts from the show, do not reference anything in game to that specific show.. it'll be allowed on the hub, and no one can stop you.. seriously though make something original.. | |
What if I called the game:"Half Piece". Though, everything included in the manga. Name, etc. Could they even sue me for using the name Luffy? Or having a pixel art that would seemingly look like Luffy(The main character).

I never mentioned anyone being sued, it's unlikely anyone would unless they made a lot of money.
You can get anyway with your idea if you call it "Octorage", I don't know of any octopuses that have hair.. so perhaps the tentacles could go red or something. | |
