Why the hell were you building a Durand?

I've never been banned for making a Durand or a Gygax on that server. Some times I do it when commissioned by the Captain or HoS, but most of the time I do it on my own accord (I almost always give the completed mech to the HoS or Captain after I'm finished).

The only times I have ever had any issue with this is IC, when one or the other of my bosses (when Robotics reported to both CE and RD) complained that I was not authorized to build such mechs.

Now I play a serious Roboticist... It even says so in his Bio. His life is Robotics. He will even be borderline insubordinate in order to do his job and build mechs. I remember one game where I put an MMI into an Odysseus I made. It was a helpful mech from what I could see, but being 'unauthorized' (My hard-ass boss CE needed to approve each and every single mech I made, and yet refused each and every single request to build mechs I put forward to him), the CE tried to outright destroy the mech.

I released the mech right in front of the CE, and told it to run. Then turned myself into security for disobeying a direct order. (fortunately security saw it from my point of view).

But never have I been told off on that server for building a mech as a roboticist (no matter what mech).

I have been warned when I broke some rules while trying to build one of those mechs (broke into chemistry for the acid when there was no chemist on board, or built myself a mini research lab when there was no R&D department on board), but never for doing my job within the rules.

Were you perhaps ignoring your job as a roboticist (ignoring other mech requests), or breaking other rules to make the mech when you got banned?

However based on Walter's comment, it sounds like he knew you shouldn't be on the server (or thought you shouldn't be), perhaps because of past behavior, and it just happened to be when you were building a Durand. It might not have to do with the mech or what you were doing at the time at all, but something you did previously (or were thought to have done).

And I got banned for launching said "guys" voluntarily. Launching live people into space is ban worthy, no doubt about that, but if the context behind it stands to account I fail to see why a ban was administered. Not to get into an argument with the moderator but the scenario he applied in justification of the ban was entirely different to that of our current scenario. So in an attempt to get off the station to pray to our god in peace away from the "oppressive" rule currently undergoing the station and the perceived hate against our in-character religion we were banned (losing a good friend Logan (see you in heaven too buddy) on the way).

Now the ban is only two days and I can understand if the Administrative/Moderator staff are uneasy about the unbanning process but for a "pure roleplay" server, getting banned for firing people out the mass driver who were *not* SSD and *consented* is a bit peculiar. So I wanted this to at the very least go on record and be noticed, for better or for worse on my prospects on the server.

So there you have it. I could ramble on and give you even more reasons why I believe the ban wasn't entirely justified however for the sake of the poor person who has to read this I won't unless asked.

As a final note I'd like to say that this isn't an attack on the Moderators or Administrators, especially Walter who's an absolute legend for linking me the old lobby music, spawning my beloved Betsy and offering a statue in reward if I could beat the impossible "Sarah's Fun Game" (I couldn't sadly), but rather how I feel a particular ban of myself and a fellow player wasn't entirely justified. Now this isn't particularly the fault of the staff member who administered the ban but probably due to a misunderstanding/miscommunication between ourselves and the staff member.

All and all, if this turns out to be a wall of text, though I don't think it will, then my apologies to the person who has to handle the appeal.
