Problem description:

Hello Byond this is one of my few Byond posts but I want to make a game but I can't do anything like Mapping or Iconing or Coding... I really want to put my idea into action.

What I want to do: Make A horror Roleplaying game like Mitadake but not quite the same. You have Humans,Androids and Demons players play all of them and have unique spawns and stuff.. The place would take place into a facility. It has lots of traps and his run by demons.

You guys get the point. Anyways I want help but I'm not sure if I could get it to happen because well... I Have no money... I came here to look for people who can take there time and work on it. So Is there anyone here who can help out?

A few things you need.

A brain
An imagination
Some common sense
The ability to read and understand the English language
Read DM GUIDE
Read DM REFERENCE
Persistence
The ability to not give up, especially on the above.

:/ I can't do mapping iconing or coding :/ WHICH IS WHY I came here in the first place :/
That's the point of LEARNING about BYOND. If you want to make "games" with no knowledge what so ever, and no desire to learn the language and the GDK, then go play with Game Maker.

Learn to do them, like everyone else the majority of people here have done.

"mapping" is simple just point an click a turf or object ...

Learn for god sake, you'll never get anywhere in life if you can't do something without someone holding your hand...
Read the DM Guide first of all, it's not up to date but it'll give you a nice introduction into DM and Object Oriented Programming in general if you've never worked with anything like C++ or Java before.

Failure is useful if you don't throw your hands up and give up every time you run into an obstacle.

I spent the better part of ten years learning game design theory, fifteen learning to program, and ten years learning 2D and 3D art.

When people come in here, and imply that they lack the ability to do something, that implies that they lack some innate ability, and therefore, shouldn't bother trying. It kind of insulting, because it implies that those of us who can do it, came by our knowledge and abilities naturally. It shows an intense amount of disregard for the hard work we put in, the study, the hair-pulling frustration, and the months of straining to understand something just outside of your reach.

I was never "taught" to program. I learned. Every golden nugget of knowledge I obtained was not given to me. I had to work to understand what others were kind enough to write down, until I was clever enough to go it by myself and envision my own ways of solving programs.

You don't lack the ability. You just don't want to put the work in.
Ter13's right. You can't be a great developer without first being a shitty one. There's an echelon that must be followed in order to attain guru status here on BYOND. You'll never start out being good at programming, but that's what we're all here for. There's a huge community of experienced developers and programmers, many of us come from backgrounds outside of BYOND, willing to help new developers with the ropes, all you have to do is put in the work to read the guide and try it out yourself first.

We treasure questions and our Developer Help section is constantly monitored by SOMEONE experienced at almost all hours of the night, so ask away. As long as you seem like you're grasping the concepts that we're explaining to you, no one should be rude.
If you can't quite grasp the Blue Book, I used Zilal's tutorials back in the day. They can be found in the Developer Resources.
Just Saying I looked at the DM Guide for a bit it doesn't quite help. I also tried my hand at Mapping but I am terrible at making tiles. I would look in icon share but I hate stealing tiles from other games >.>

You cannot be perfect at something the first time you try it. I only read the first few chapters of the DM guide before ditching it. I learned through trying out random things and reading over the syntax, it is not hard at all.

Try practicing the things you read. If you think you'll read the guide and learn to program from that alone, that's incorrect.

You're learning how to walk right now, so get ready for a few falls.
