Yes i know Byond doesn't have any actual specific requirements, but it seems like certain area's in Bleach Las Noches(BLN) auto clicks me out, i can play it on my newer pc fine, but i wanna know, is it my pc specs,is it my service pack? or is it that my older pc just cant handle byond.
Older Pc
---------------------
128 MB Video Ram(Upgraded)
Windows XP,Service Pack 3(Upgraded)
AMD Athlon(tm)XP 2000+ 1.67 GHz
1 GB of ram(Upgraded)
Btw newer byond games also auto clicks/exits me out, but it works on my newer pc, which i cannot understand.

BYOND is old-tech enough that you could run it on essentially anything newer than Win98. You're definitely able to run BYOND.
|
But what is the problem with BLN and the newer byond games?
it auto clicks me out on certain places but it works on my newer pc on those certain places |
Bleach Las Noches isn't a new game.
I would like to see a list of those "new games" that are giving you troubles, I've only seen sidescrollers working slow on BYOND, but that doesn't make a difference on a newer computer. |
Im not talking about the games moving slow, they work fine, what im talking about is" lets say i walked into a squad house in BLN, it would auto click me out, if i move into a different squad house in BLN it still clicks me out, if i click on rei release still get auto exit. same thing happens with Rise Of The Pirates.
I dont know what causes this. |
What do you mean by "clicks you out"?
From what I can tell, this is a programming issue on the game's part. |
It COULD be ram related. If you have lots of things running on your computer, or the game has lots of graphics, sound and whatever, it could be using up a lot of ram. Your computer is simply like, "oh no, I can't handle this!"
|
What i mean is it exits out of the game, it doesn't move my mouse but it just exits out of the game, the same thing happens when im playing Space Station 13 and The Last Conflict.
Idk what causes it but it just exits, no warning, it just exits out of the game/dream seeker. @Super: The computer that can run it fine has 1Gb of ram, and if its a ram problem then im disappointed at byond. edit: Btw these games used to run fine intill byond did the update back in late 2010. |
What you mean is, you're using an auto-clicker and right when you start it, it crashes the game? Maybe it causes the computer usage to go outta whack and crash the game, try doing less clicks per second or something idk :l
Pretty sure it's not byond though. I could run byond on my toaster. |
Lemon if you ever played BLN you would notice that: YOU CANT USE A AUTO CLICKER FOR BLN CAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK.
Also im not using a auto clicker, im not even talking about auto clickers, and im pretty sure it is 80% of the newer byond games when this error happens. This is a real byond error not a auto clicker error. |
I don't think I would highly recommend doing anything online with XP service pack 2 anymore.
|
possible! but that's a nice small chunk of ram, I suspect it might be the video ram here, perhaps trying software mode might fix the issue.
Jaredoggy, some people still use 98. |
@A.T.H.K:
Ive upgraded my video ram earlier today, i now got 128 MB of video ram and yet the error still happens. I also removed my old ram and added some more, i now got 1 Gb of ram, my pc specs now surpass the pc that doesn't get the error and yet its still happening |
What do you mean by software mode?
As in this i mean i dont know how to get to software mode + i dont know what software mode is. also ive installed service pack 3, still didn't work. |
Open BYOND, File > Preferences, Games tab
Untick Use graphics hardware ![]() If it is already untick, try ticking it to humor me. |
Software rending mode is the deprecated alternative to hardware rending mode, in which software rending mode uses OpenGL to draw the graphics displayed on your screen, or hardware rending mode, which uses DirectX to display graphics on your screen. It is possible that if you are using outdated hardware graphic drivers, or an old version of DirectX, display problems while using hardware rending mode could be caused.
To disable hardware rending mode: Open the BYOND pager > File > Preferences > Games > Uncheck "Use graphics hardware to display maps. > OK. Additional, if disabling hardware rending mode doesn't correct the problem, is this a random occurrence, or does the same action (Right clicking, left clicking, using a verb, using an input, keyboard command, etc) always result in Dreamseeker being closed? If so, what is that action? |
@A.T.H.K: Ill try it later on tonight.
@Higoten: It happens during the same action, this usually happens if i use rei release or just walk into a certain area. |
