cool story bro.
Post was meant toward yutput and bravo.
Few updates on my entry:
-Named it Sword.
-Added swords
-Added HUD, includes cool text for level, hearts(that depreciate in thirds) for hp and blue orbs to how mana.
-Added Torches with dynamic lighting.
-Added damage to the spikes.

Looks like some great progress there! I'm loving this competition. It's getting heated, especially with everyone showing updates on here except me. I'm making a ton of progress myself though as well! This is super exciting.

Very nice indeed. Two people using dynamic lighting now... Geeze. Tempting, but I'll steer clear and keep it simple.

I would show some more, as I've been making progress, but I am trying to make it to at least a playable demo by tomorrow so I'll wait.

In the mean time, a few things I've gotten done:
-Found free resource music I will implement soon.
-Finished basic base icon
-Finished basic zombie with dead icon state
-Added the ability to fire arrows
-Added basic enemy AI
-Added basic death handling

Now a few things I did that I should of mentioned last post:
-Finished regular icon for medium treasure chest.
-Added basic system for maptext
-Added native pixel movement, and various settings for it.


Anyways. This contest is truly intense now, especially with Hulio-G reappearing all of a sudden; I use to hear about his art a lot. Everyone's previews look nice, except the KH copier; so I look forward to seeing how this goes. Also, thanks to everyone who commented on my previous previews.

P.S: Quick question, are we allowed to have friends test our entries for us? or are we only allowed to show to people here for previewing purposes? Not sure, since testing technically helps us in development.
I've let at least 5 random people test my game, so if it's against the rules then I'm screwed. I don't see why it would be.

Used the same basics as I did in Nightmare. I'm very pleased with it.

You know not having the ability to flick images sucks. Then again, I'm using pixel_movement so I'm just attaching mobs to the client mob so they can have their own states and flick their own animations. This way I don't need to make an 8 frame animation for legs that DO NOTHING.

If you flick() yourself, all of your overlays and underlays receive that same flick(). Don't overdo it, it might start to hurt.

I use F_a's Overlays, which supports flicking individual overlays.
That's basically what I'm using, pixel movement has all the same abilities, but I like making my stuff from scratch (unless I know I can't do it for sure)

Meh, nevermind, the timing with the variable doesn't work two well, I guess I'll just make animations that span each part for that one. For everything else though: it looks great!
