I don't know if this will help any but I was comparing the files from 513 to 512 and one of the diffrences I came across was the 'ByondStub.dll' - So I ran that, and opened it up in one of my programs as a text instead of hex, and got this.

That's pretty meaningless. Anyway that .dll is for a browser plugin that's no longer relevant, which I'll probably remove at some point.

For those having issues, in another thread an audio driver was found to be interfering with BYOND.

Further information on how to use Process Monitor after downloading it from Microsoft: Open Procmon.exe or Procmon64.exe depending on your operating system. Go to the Filter menu and choose Filter... then add this:
(Process name) (is) byond.exe (Include) Add that new filter, then click OK. You should now see only events related to the BYOND pager. Start up the pager and take a look at what it says. Yo ucan also copy the info to a text document, and that's something I can take a look at (you could always pastebin it and send the link to me in a private message). |
I realize I was not looking at the right thing when responding to Carbadox but yeah I also downloaded process monitor and and getting the same result they are where it’s Unable to load Process Monitor Device Driver. I’m wondering if this is an issue with windows 7 in general? Even though it should run fine on it.
besides that I can make the filter just cant use it |

I have a vista, it's weird it seems Windows 10 and below are having trouble opening the hub - nothing seems to be working. |
What to do if ProccessMonitor gives me the previously mentioned error?
Also, I just remembered that unicode doesnt seem to work on my system. Didn't think it was worth mentioning until I was reading about how to fix it and the guide mentioned switching to a Japanese locale (didn't work btw, it broke my system and I had to launch windows in safe mode and revert the change) |

Nobody said you should switch to a Japanese locale. I said BYOND has problems if you use a Japanese locale. That's the exact opposite.
Regarding the Process Monitor issue, I found this link: https://rspydir.wordpress.com/2017/05/24/ solved-unable-to-load-process-monitor-device-driver/ There's also this, but of course the solution is hidden behind a paywall: https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27909923/ Unable-to-load-Process-Monitor-driver.html That one suggests there might be a permissions issue on your system. Finally there's this old but possibly useful thread: https://serverfault.com/questions/341043/ process-monitor-fails-to-start-on-a-64-bit-computer |

im on windows 7 so i dont know if this is the exact thing youre looking for I don't see much of note on that list, except I'm curious about msseces.exe. That says it's for Microsoft Security Essentials, so it's conceivable that's misbehaving and not acting appropriately. I'm curious what happens if it's disabled temporarily. |
I had the same problem when upgrading from 512 to 513. And I fixed it.
Run byond, watch for loading game info. Then click on byond again and fly out to the byond window. Click on the shistirenka and enter your password / login. Then, through Open Place, go to the server If it's not clear: double-click on the byond icon, shistirenka, enter and open the location |

"Shistirenka" is not an English word. I think he meant "cogwheel" icon, that is the menu |
