Your edit is my favorite. I think the hair hiding the ears is part of why it is, though, haha. It looks... Strangely familiar though. I'm guessing you got ideas for the hair from some anime character, lol.
Anyways. I actually like this base, aside from the ears. I prefer the clothing edits over the original clothing example, but the base its self is good. I think the ears is just a personal preference with me too, so I wouldn't worry about them much. Edit: Woah, nice edit by Maximus. A little strange somehow, and yet also somehow right. Must have to do with the perspective. The ears seem less troublesome on his, too, but they're definitely just a personal preference with me. | |

I forgot to touch the ears to be honest. I didn't know whether they should've been pointed or not so I kept them that way, just recolored.
A lot of the awkward looking is because I tried to keep the same overall size as the original and it didn't turn quite as expected to keep a good perspective. | |

Experimentation of colors is fine and what not, but don't go overboard, your colors were ranging on that of a ginger bread man, I attached an image of a 5 minute or so edit, I would of done more, but I am currently in a rush. You have done such a nice edit. Your palette seems familiar though; the colors look like Gensho's.
But what ever that is just superb! PixelRat aka DungeonDan use his colors and also see how much saturation he used for each color to get better palette and to learn more. Moreover see the perspective. Sky, you are just awesome man! | |
