So I was doing some research and I had a PC I don't really use so I choose to put linux on it. So I wanted to know if it was possible to setup a server to host MUDs on it?

Virtualbox is always an option (http://www.virtualbox.org/)
It's kind of like running a computer inside your computer. |
If you're looking to host a MUD using a system other than BYOND, you should probably just google around or find a more appropriate forum for your questions.
If you are using BYOND, there are Unix (linux) byond packages for you to download here: http://www.byond.com/download/
