That's a single attack among several that this boss has. Not to mention that, in its active state, the boss has 90% damage reduction unless you destroy all 4 "cores" in the surrounding area.

Also, those fists are going to be a lot more punishing to be hit by than you see in the gif. You'll have to be actively dodging them while fighting off hordes of other enemies.

Also, regarding the comical text - yeah, that's intentional. Generally, the style of the game is comical and whimsical.

So a fantasy medieval rpg world with a, comic, touch.. to it?

Impressive. But you should make the whole experience enchanting, and high quality.

Are you implying that the game isnt enchanting and high quality?

Of course not. It isn't his amazing, groundbreaking, revolutionary, best-game-ever that he will never make.

Show me what you got
I don't get much time to develop anymore but I'll have something substantial to share in time for the January BYOND Within. (;

WIP.

Special thanks to all contributors of the Particons package for the rain. Took a while to get something I liked, but I think it looks great!

it kind of bugs me that the rain doesnt collide with the ground/terrain tbh
maybe just putting it on layer beneatg the foreground tiles would fix this

I wanted to do this at first, but then I realized it would show up above the darker background tiles as well, making it look like it was moving through the ground.

I can put it even further back but then that puts it behind the robot.

That option isn't too bad though, as it's not likely for rain to pass directly between the robot and the screen anyways so it doesn't really seem odd.

I'm fiddling with it but the third option is likely best, as the visual oddities would be reduced down to a minimum.
I think its fine as is could just add some drops thats a different effect that hits ground. Because the way it is now makes it seem like the robot is within the rain.
makes it seem like the robot is within the rain.

How do you mean within the rain, exactly? o_O

Have rain in the background as well.

Added droplet effects and also change the rain to bet blocked by solid turfs. The lower area can still be entered and the player still appears above it.

In other parts of the area, those show up behind the rain.

I ended up using two different turfs, one set which has it's layer slightly above the rain, and another slightly below.

It lets me pull off more proper rain effects with little effort. It still looks wrong in some spots, but I'm happy with it *so far*. Still WIP.

Edit: I also made the raindrops deviate by a bit. It's not shown here but it makes them a bit more randomized in both timing and position.
