On this 2nd UI i worked today. Elements on lefts ar ok (in my opinion) but this panel.... Idea is good, but i need inspiration. Because panels on right don't looks awsome... :\
Check out Kingdom of Hearts panel.
I like the #2 option as well, more eye catching so people will be more aware of their status.
I much prefer #2.
i prefer the 2nd myself, at least the panel overlapping thing (at least as opposed to the first option), as for the hp on it... meh, though thats not to say i think the first is a better alternative either.
Numero uno is a less intrusive UI which allows for better immersion into the game...

Numero dos is more pronounced and eye catching so that you will pay more attention to your stats...

Why not a setting to toggle eithrr one?
Graphics obviously need a bit more work, and I'll probably need to smooth it out a bit more later on but after a message from Kats I became inspired to make this little update.

Like most good shooters should be, Hunger is now 8 directional!

Cool, good job.
Fear my awesomeness. Time for my black and white game.

This game will be a platformer.

May want to try a different hobby.

What you don't see is that he drew that using only the pen tool at 10000% scale and then scaled it down to 1px resolution.

I realize these may not seem a ton different, but they are... I promise ;) With this one, I've added in a 'size_in' and 'size_out' variable which causes the particles to expand to their full size over a few frames at the beginning of the animation, and shrink out as well. I can also set a base color, and a shift color which will alter the particles color over its lifetime.

Pretty impressive.
I thought about tackling what you are doing now some months ago and ultimately chose to spend my time developing more games.

If you could get this working might I suggest speaking to Lummox to add it as some sort of "add-on" option?
I realize that there are tons of libs in the community, but even the best written lib is pointless if no one has access to it.

I'm suggesting something more along the lines of how unity handles it,pre-project start inclusion options.

At the very least a link stating that it's a complimentary program on the downloads page, since generating effects is something pretty much any project would benefit from.

I love the way this one looks!

To be fair, I've got about 5 days in this so far, 4 of which were work days so I didn't get a ton done. And I started it to add some glitz to one of my games.

If you could get this working might I suggest speaking to Lummox to add it as some sort of "add-on" option?

I don't see that happening. It's neat, but not really something that should be added to the general suite.

I'm hoping to release at least a basic version of this in a couple days. It's never going to be incredibly stable, but it's pretty functional and not overly complicated to play around with.

Thanks for the comments. :)

What's your ultimate goal for it?
If it's high on cpu usage would it be practical/possible to create frame by frame Dmi files?
Feed's first stable build in over two years is available from the hub. The ancient "screen is too small" complaints have also been addressed. (:

Taking break from main project to do a fun mini-game!
