On a side note if you add vampires and vampire hunters as factions then i will spend over 900 hours on the game hunting down flithy vampires and making them suffer. And maybe farm some better equipment. |

The witcher 3 had some enemies that just didnt charge in head first. I beat the witcher, never spotted any "intelligent" ai. Neither have a played a game where I would consider the ai intelligent. Making the ai moe around projectiles does not make them smart. It just makes them appear smarter but there still dumb |

I've played plenty of games with intelligent AI.
Final Fantasy 3(6) springs to mind. Dark Souls,Demon Souls. Enemies that change their actions based on the status of your character, focus on healers to weaken your party, etc. Really it's not that hard to create AI that can "think", it's just something most people don't bother to do. I was pretty terrible at making AI when I first started, the first few times it caused my projects to crash over the course of a few hours. But I learned a great deal since then. |

Intelligence is relative. Ai that navigates obstacles is smarter than ai that doesn't, but is dumb when compared to ai that navigates obstacles AND creates them.

Legend of Zelda, bosses that change their attack patterns-based on various factors *usually how much you've beaten them into submission*

So are ya calling my AI dumb or am I misreading? It's probably not the smartest but I think its pretty smart. Powers up when Ki is lower then 20%, Flies & Lands when player flies or land. Uses skills if distance is greater then 3. Guards based on health and much more.

From a psych perspective that still isn't intelligent. It doesn't know why it needs to avoid these obstacles, no perception of itself, no perception of reasoning. No game has even the intelligence of an insect

AI by definition is "artificial".
I'm not sure why you're mincing words like this. lol. One could argue the same about animals, that's clearly not the case though. |

Bandits with bows & arrows dont run towards you to fire arrows in your face.Similarly, melee attackers don't flee to cover before attacking. It depends on the situation. Even ranged attackers can chase a target when they're too far away. A ranger class, which uses ranged weapons and is also skilled at close combat with knives and daggers, could chase a target and use whatever attack is appropriate for the distance. As an example, the AI in Ganite's gif is clearly seen firing a ki blast from a distance along with using close combat. I'd say this is a step up from "mindlessly chasing after you without thinking and thus walks into all your attacks". |

You guys are doing a great job but what irks me is the fact that the buildings and objects dont mesh with the floor. Like at the bottom of every house or building the building just abruptly cuts off, it doesnt become one with the grass around it or the particular environment it's in. It's just a straight line.

I don't see it.
And @Exentriks: We're going for a very cartooney art style, so kinks like that are to be expected. Although having a few jutting blades of grass overlaying the bottom of houses wouldn't hurt in the future. |
A.I. Means man made intelligence. But as far as I'm concerned man hasn't made anything intelligent. But I use ai usually as a term to discuss enemy behaviour rather than its actual intelligence

technically it means artificial intelligence not specifically man made, because in the future computers will be able to create A.i.s to support their army to take over the world.
