Unaware, but my main point still stands.
Are you working on anything? (:

You should try adding little splashes at the end of their animation to add more depth. It looks really good! (:
When I see this thread I feel like I'm late to the ball game. I feel it's more of an after-thought to show my day-night,shadow and weather effects since they've been done for almost 8 months now :o

*Goes to think up new cool things to add*
Added dash & jump also updated AI to use both.

Well I'm totally reconstructed my game. Learning the webclient, html, and Java script. Than with my new partner we will have something amazing to show you within a month or so hopefully.

Though I do have school starting September.

Are those shadows created by code or just a lot of art

Code.

I've been fiddling with a cardgame the last week or so, but I haven't had a lot of time to work on it thanks to regular and irregular contract work and the need to pay bills.

It turns out when you don't pay bills, people call you and shut your shit off. Who knew?

Anyway, the basic idea is more or less MTG meets chess meets Triple Triad. Thanks to input from Yut, phases have been completely eliminated.

There's a 5x5 gameboard, and three main types of card: Land, Creature, and Spell. Land cards are played on the gameboard within your home row or mana pool.

Creature cards can be played on your home row or in your mana pool. Land cards on which a creature is sitting can't be tapped for mana, so board control is important. You also can't play a land card on an occupied space.

Spell cards come in a number of different flavors: Instant-cast, regular spells, traps, creature enchants, and field enchants. Instants can be played at any time, even during your opponent's turn. All other spells must be played during your turn. Traps can be played anywhere on the board, but will interfere with land-tapping and placement. Creature enchants can be played either on enemy or friendly cards. Field enchants are played outside of the game board and globally apply their effects given the card's rules.

Creature cards have 4 attack and defense values, and a health value. Cards can be rotated at any time during your turn, and one card per turn can be moved. Every card can attack once per turn. If a card's health is reduced to 0, it is destroyed. All cards are restored to full health at the beginning of the enemy's next turn.

You can only attack the enemy player by reaching their home row with a creature and attacking with that creature.

Monster cards also have move rules based on chesspieces. The rules are pawn, knight, bishop, rook, queen, and king. They act identically to a similar piece in chess, including castling and first-move pawn rules.

Pawns can only move forward. Their direction of rotation does not change their movement direction.

I'm hoping I can get a break from contracts soon so I can continue work.

ahhh yea i see he propbably made a duplicate, changed the colour to black and the alpha to 100 or so and used transform or is there some rotate function. I forgot haven't rotated images in any applications. Which is why if hes using alpha that headband seems to overlap.

If i'm ever going to add weather effects itll be raining bloody eyeballs that splat when they hit the ground. Cause I have an obsession in different body parts and using them to replace normal objects.

Err. Don't try to fan imaginary fires.
I asked a legitimate question, I was curious how his game's going. I've actually been watching the progress for some time now.

I need this in my life. Bit unrelated but I've always wanted to sort of make combat like this title.

Sort of motivates me to work on something.
Any chance this could be on-topic for more than a couple of posts? Please. I've been working on a few small things for that-one-project-that's-probably-never-going-to-be-done. Also, I may be releasing a few libraries(if I can find the time to touch on a few of my old works and 'modernize' them).
